Again, everyone on this board that thinks Rollins should have won is from philadelphia and uses arguments such as 20/20/20/20/20/20/20 with no regard to meaningful stats. I'm not sure if they block sites like baseballprospectus up there, but somehow the rest of the country is able to reach one conclusion. In fact, I doubt you could find an article written by any respected journalist that agrees rollins should have won.

That's a tough one...And I'll venture to say you're an Indians fan...Well Indians fan what's the point of winning a playoff game if your up 3-1 and can't seal the deal. So you won 3 games, and then you lost big to the Red Sox.

Well, I seriously doubt the voters were a bunch of fat, beer-belching doofuses from South Philly. So your "rest of the country, world, planet" deal doesn't fly.

And the 20/20/20/20 stat isn't a valid stat anymore now? It doesn't carry weight? Especially when everybody added Rollin's intangibles? Pssh. Rollins is only an above average glove??? Ha!

IMO, this is a clear case of being overloaded by stats. Letting too many stupid stats cloud your judgment. What's the next one you'll throw at us...Pujols takes a longer piss than Rollins does each time per day??

Stats aren't everything. Especially with all the dumb, minute stats that baseball can deal out there.

Thing is it wasn't a thread on "lets compare Jimmy Rollins to the rest of NL MVP contenders".... I was merely stating that Utley could win the MVP in 08, and that would give 3 MVP's from Philly. I thought that would be cool, and maybe would draw some conversation but not a pissing contest of who can insert more stats from baseball prospectus.
