    Re: Defense

    I have to agree with Smalls. You can TOTALLY tell the difference btwn fielders (especially outfielders). I couldnt hit anything past Estad when I played the Angels...and I also take notice of who's out there when Im considering baserunning. When you see Vlade Guerrero gunning out there....you play it conservative.

      i think the outfielders speeds are just fine
      i havent gotten the chance to play a team with a average centerfielder though...every team i played has a good defensive centerfielder.
      jones=braves
      pierre=marlins
      wilson=rockies
      griffey=reds

          Re: Defense

          i agree that the outfielders' range, speed, and the dimensions of the ball parks are the most realistic in ASB of any game to date.

          If you are having trouble playing the outfield, you need to use the outfield shifts. The shifts really make a huge difference. You can tell which way to shift by looking at the particular batters' tendencies on where he has hit most of his balls (push down on the right thumbstick, and it will give you the option of looking at what part of the field the batter gets most of his hits) , if he is a R/L batter, what pitcher is on the mound, and what pitches you are giving him. For example: if you have a right handed batter that has hit 65% of his hits to left field, then shift your outfield and infield to left field and pitch the batter inside a majority of the time. That really helps with the outfield play. You have to use strategy, just like in the real game.
