Pointing out that he was injured isnt really a rebuttal.

there is really nothing to rebut

you gave two examples of high ERA (at least high for Clemens). That's it...and he happened to have injuries those two years. Injuries happen to all pitchers.

No, I referenced why Pettitte says he used. And I provided stats for another player. What Im suggesting is obvious, dude.

not exactly. Read Pettitte's deposition. He said in his deposition that he misunderstood a conversation.

Pettite said he talke to Clemens about his use of HGH. Clemens said Pettite "Misremembered" the conversation. Then Clemens threw his wife under the bus saying they were for her.

You seem to "misremember" all the evidence.

I'm not saying I believe Clemens, but read Pettitte's deposition. He clearly states in there on more than one occasion that he must've just misuderstood what Clemens had said to him about his HGH use. This came after Clemens told him he had said his wife, not him, had used HGH.

I haven't had a chance to read this entire thread, so forgive me if this has already been posted, but I thought it was pretty funny:

                Clemens: You want answers?

Congressman: I think I'm entitled to them.

                Clemens: You want answers?

                Congressman: I want the truth!

Clemens: You can't handle the truth! Son, we live in a world that has baseballs. And those balls have to be hit by men with bats. Who's gonna do it? You? You,Congressman? I have a greater responsibility than you can possibly fathom. You weep for steroids and you curse HGH. You have that luxury. You have the luxury of not knowing what I know: that HGH, while illegal, probably sells tickets. And my existence, while grotesque and incomprehensible to you, sells tickets...You don't want the truth. Because deep down, in places you don't talk about at parties, you want me on that mound. You need me on that mound. We use words like fastall, slider, splitfinger...we use these words as the backbone to a life spent playing a sport. You use 'em as a punchline. I have neither the time nor the inclination to explain myself to a man who rises and falls asleep to the Sportscenter clips I provide, then questions the manner in which I provide it! I'd rather you just said thank you and went on your way. Otherwise, I suggest you pick up a bat and dig in. Either way, I don't give a damn what you think you're entitled to!

Congressman: Did you order the HGH?

Clemens: (quietly) I did the job you sent me to do.

Congressman: Did you order the HGH?

                Clemens: You're g*ddamn right I did!!

I was actually addressing the fact that he says he did them to help recover from injury. You mentioned Clemens had 3 down years because of his injuries. Are you starting to see the connection yet? What about Mark McGwire hitting 9 HRs in truncated seasons only to follow it up with the most epic HR binge in the history of the leage. In all three cases, guys were facing their mortality and werent ready to give up their livelihood or possibly in some cases their status as a super star. So I ask you, when you look at Clemens turnaround after three years of injury, why would Andy Pettitte talk to Clemens about ways to stave off his own injury problems?

3? Where do you get that? Those TWO years were pretty much the only time he had injury problems in his career.

btw, you do realize that anabolic steroids end up adding to injuries and creating injuries (especially for pitchers because of what they do to ligaments)...they certainly dont prevent injuries. Clemens would have shown some signs of break down if he would have started taking anabolic steroids to "rejuvinate" his career after leaving Boston. Anabolic steroids wouldnt "rejuvinate" anything, health wise. If Clemens had taken as many anabolic steroids as he is accused of, he would have been messed up. Anabolic steroids, like winstrol, screw people's health up.

                              HGH is a different story.
