Yeah, and Pedro hasn't broken down at all, right?

He was the best pitcher in baseball for 6-7 years, but now he's a shadow of his former self at only 35 years old.

People become shadow of their former selves at that age. Unless you're Roger Clemens or Barry Bonds.

Yes, players begin to decline at that age, they don't fall the face of the earth and go from one of the most dominating pitchers of all time to a 3rd or 4th starter (in the weak NL) 2 years later. His body broke down.

Pedro can't put a full season together anymore, he went from throwing 98mph heat to 87mph fastballs. His changeup isn't NEARLY as effective as it was a few years ago. If he wasn't as smart as he was he would get lit up like a christmas tree with the stuff he's been throwing out there the last 2 seasons.

              Career 2.80 ERA, 1.030 WHIP, 161 ERA+.

I'm sure Giants fans will be fine with 15 years of first-ballot hall of fame caliber pitching.

The guy had a 1.108 whip in 2006. That's your idea of falling off the face of the earth?

When did I say anything about Tim Lincecum? I was replying to what rag said about LaSorda and Pedro.

I see the guy pitch every 5 days, you can't just run over to ESPN.com and look up his numbers. He wasn't healthy, wasn't winning, even when he had good games he seemed to struggle through them, he's a broken down pitcher, and he was just that in 2006. 1.108 WHIP or not.

This is exactly what he said and I quoted:

Didn't Tommy Lasorda think the same with Pedro Martinez?
He was trying to say that Lasorda was wrong on Pedro not having longevity. Looks like Lasorda was right and I was pointing that out. My reply had nothing to do with Tim Lincecum.

Except the post you quoted was a reply ABOUT Lincecum's body breaking down, showing it was stupid to say a pitcher like him won't have longevity because the same thing was said about Martinez, and as I said earlier he ended up throwing 15 years of first-ballot HOF ball. Besides, what you said was wrong anyway because the quote was about him not lasting 10 years and Pedro is already well over that.

                            Franklin Morales (Rockies)
                            Adam Loewen (Orioles)
                            Tim Lincecum (Giants)
                            Johnny Cueto (Reds)
                            Jake McGee (Rays)
                            Wade Davis (Rays)
                            David Price (Rays)

The Rays are going to have 4 legit #1-#2 starters on their team with those three plus Kazmir. Not fair.
