Just read the MVP interview and...

Regardless of what many reviewers say, I'm still excited about this game. The most important aspect of a baseball game to me is the pitcher/batter interface and I think MVP will be the most accurate.

    From the EA interview:

    </font><blockquote><font class="small">Quote:</font><hr />
If you are trying to pull a pitch that’s thrown on the outside part of the plate or vice versa, the result will likely be a weakly hit ball that will result in an out. However, if you get your timing right and use the left analog stick to hit the ball where you're pitched, you should see good results.

From the movies I've seen, the pitch speed and movements are the most realistic. Going against Pedro Martinez or Randy Johnson should be a blast to do!

Just read an opinion from IGN ps2 editor Jeremy Dunham and he said:

I'm torn between WSB and MVP. I need to play more of both before I can choose though.

So far, MVP's gameplay is pretty damn awesome, but WSB combines all its elements so well --

        I dunno, it's definitely tough.

Wish I had an answer for you already, but I don't.

(I still miss Tony LaRussa Baseball and Hardball myself)

If MVP had just had zone hitting it would be on my must buy list. I think EA just dumbed down MVP so the average gamer wouldn't get frustrated with hitting.

I know longer buy any EA games. I rent first. EA has lacked real baseball knowledge for a while now. Saw a movie where EA said the guy is stealing home. It's a fly ball which is caught and the runner tags up and scores. The ball movement looks an awful lot like TP of the past. I wish them the best.

I think I saw that movie too, at IGN, and it did say steal home, however, IGN gives the movies the title, Not EA
Im gonna buy MVP, because its something different, I love Sega, but I hate cursor hitting.

I'm not getting MVP due to it being A) an EA product and B) a first year title.

However ryanoddey just to let you know you can turn off cursor in WSB

Keep in mind guys that EA brought the title to in house developers. TP was out in BFE somewhere. I am just glad that EA has realized what crap TP was. MVP is my dark horse this year.

So far the ONLY game I have tried this year is HH '04 on the PS2. I was dissappointed quite a bit. The game just doesn't "feel" like baseball.
