Glenallen Hill is the reason there is a sign on one of the apartment buildings across Waveland Ave. in left field. The sign says 468, but I'm pretty sure that's because he hit the top of the building, probably would have been 500 feet or so on the ground.

I have no doubt the man was a steroid user.

      a) Even though it didn't count, during BP before Game 1 of the 1990 World Series, I was sitting with my grandpa in our seats about a third of the way up in the red reserve in-line with the left-field foulpole at Riverfront Stadium, when Jose Canseco hit it off a seat about two rows in front of us. That is a monster shot for that stadium and I never saw or heard anyone hit one even close to that area there.

      b) The McGwire HR off Randy Johnson in the Kingdome has to be the most powerful, and likely the longest had it not been inside a dome, one I've ever seen. To my knowledge, up to that point in Kingdome history, nobody had hit one into the upper-deck in left. McGwire hit a fastball from Johnson halfway up the wall of the dome above the last row of seats in the upper-deck in left. Had it not been in a dome, Lord knows where that ball would have ended up.

Encarcacion's home run didn't go into the black, it was hit into the bleachers in left-center and that has to be one of the longest ones I've ever seen hit live on TV.

On TV. The Toy Cannon Jimmy Wynn at Yankee stadium. I think it was opening day.

In person: Dave Kingman on the Mets. A game against Chicago but can't remember the year. It was a moonshot that disappeared into the night. I believe I read the next morning that it landed in the Shea parking lot.

The Big Cat, when he was a Giants crushed one. I thought it was going to hit the glove. It is was shot and was easily 470 feet, maybe more. I remember that Fred one, BK. Also, when Straw played for the Dodgers he hit one so far in candlestick. I thought it was going to go out of the stadium. It was against Billy Swift.

1989 Jose Canseco hits a massive shot way up to the highest deck of what was then Skydome. I believe he and McGwire hold the record for longest HR in the Skydome/Rogers Centre.

The Pujols HR in the playoffs against the Astros was pretty amazing too just for the sheer vertical of it.

I'm pretty sure Manny actually took that record a couple years ago. The Skydome one.

Mo Vaughn when he was with the Mets hit one off of, I believe it was Kevin Gryboski... the ball hit about 1/2 or maybe 3/4 the way up the scoreboard at Shea. Just killed it. Don't know about the longest, but that was one that sprung to mind.

I remember Klesko hitting some blasts in his younger days too, with that big uppercut swing he had.

Dusty is good for that. I wish he would have left Ortiz in.

In person I saw A-Rod hit one against the Indians that cleared that 2nd green thing between the left field stands and bleachers.

On TV, I saw Bo Jackson hit one out to CF that was still going up as it left the yard. This was at Fenway.

Agree on the Pujols HR vs Houston a couple of years ago.

McGwire to dead center field off of Livan Hernandez at old Bush Stadium'

Jose Canseco in the upper deck at Skydome.

In person, havent really seen any that compare to those. It might be the time I was young and went to a game at Royals Stadium and Reggie Jackson, who was with the Angels, smoked one into the fountains on a line.

What often gets forgotten with Bartman and all is the fact that right after Sosa tied it in game 1 with a HR, Dusty thought it was a good idea to put in Guthrie who was the kiss of death that year. I dont even know why he was on the playoff roster. I dont even think he pitched again. Apparently Dusty wasnt satisfied knowing he sucked until he lost a playoff game in the NLCS.
