TV - would have to say either Buhner's blast at Yankee Stadium, or Jose "Steroid Boy" Canseco's blast that knocked out the CF TV camera in the playoffs (he was an Athletic at the time)..


In person? Would have to say A-Rod's shot off Livan Hernandez last year that hit the upper deck plating last year

I was in the RF bleachers in '02 for a game against Boston when Giambi hit a moonshot into the upper deck. I couldn't believe how far it went in person. It seem liked it was going up-up-up forever, I think it landed about halfway up the upper deck. It was also the game Enrique Wilson hit a grand slam.

I watched a game many years ago when Fred McGriff was a Blue Jay playing at Yankee Stadium....and he hit a rocket that went into the upper deck in right and landed into one of the exits

McGwire hit one up in the right field stands off of a 95+ fastball from Randy Johnson. This was at the kingdom when McGwire played for the Athletics and Johnson played for the Mariners.

I can't remember how long they were saying it was hit but it was somewhere over 500+ feet. This was also a game where Randy struck out like 18-20 guys but ended up losing and giving up 4 runs (I think it was).

Furthest in game homerun I have seen in person was Willy Mo Pen when in Cincinnati where he almost hit the scoreboard in leftcenterfield.

Furthest in batting practice was Big Mac in old Riverfront Stadium/Cinergy Field in Cincy.

If memory serves me correctly it was a shot by Babe Ruth, at Forbes Field where it totally cleared the roof, and he was the only player to ever do it, and it was his last hr. In his last game he hit 3 homers. Actually I guess Stargell did it a couple times, but that is amazing for that to be your last hr, and in your last game ever hit 3 hrs.

I went to a Phillies at Marlins game once and sat about 10 rows behind home plate. Pete Incaviglia came up to bat, and let me tell you he looked like a freaking GIANT. Anyway I don't know who was pitching or what the official distance was, but he crushed one at Pro Player Stadium to left/left center field over the right side part of the score board (that's on the wall) all the way to the 3rd (upper upper) deck where no one was sitting. It seemed like he was going to hit it out of the stadium! Dude was a freak.
