Re: MVP Baseball 2003 Movie Clips (3-7-03)
First of all, thanks for the movies. Second, this game looks like so much fun. Not only are the batting and pitching superior to any game I've ever seen, the game just seems to execute better than from what I saw in WSB. The WSB movies were alright, but it left me with a bad taste. I loved WSB2k2, but I think I'll have to rent it before I buy it. MVP is now a must buy thanks to these videos. -

Obvious bugs will prob be worked out by the final release (ie: announcer said the "reds trail the BREWERS by 1, when they were actually playing the Astros... this I'm not worried about). But in the 2nd clip, a Braves hitter jacks a liner down the right field line in Wrigley field. Sosa had to run quite a bit to get to the ball, but was still able to throw the runner out at 2nd base. Hmm, is the runner too slow or the outfielder too fast? Either way, that should have been an easy double. And did the 2nd baseman turning the double play at Coors field look a bit off?
Having said this, I think that each of the things I stated should be fixed by the final release. Does anyone know of tune bars in this game?Comment

Man, this game is absolutely gorgeous looking! And i absolutely LOVE the replays! They are so realistic looking - like something straight out of a TV broadcast. Tell me, is there any sort of manual control on the replays, and can you save them?
I have some concerns about the base runner speed in relation to outfielders arms (Steve said in an earlier post that he has seen runners thrown out at first from the outfield). Hopefully this won't be the case in the final build. But if this game is not 100% simulatiion perfect (which i doubt it will be), i may just have to pick it up anyway because it looks so beautiful and looks like a blast to play. I keep going back and forth between this and WSB... maybe i'll just get both and decide which one i like better.Comment

The problem on that play is that fielders throw too fast. That is really the only major issue I can see in the game. I really hope they fix this.Comment

Re: MVP Baseball 2003 Movie Clips (3-7-03)
I think I have decided which game I want. I did see some minor things such as the announcer saying the runner at 1B might have to take off early to aviod the DP ......but there was 2 outs
. Also I wish the pitchers didnt pitch high in the zone so I could see some groundballs......want to see the infield animations a little more

MVP looks ok to be honest. It's a rental for sure, but I don't think I'm set on buying it before i see some reviews on it. Graphics look a little too "cartoony." Commentary seems extremely boring as well, and of course the baserunning issues but let's hope those get ironed out in the retail version.Comment
