well considering they trade away all their big-name talent every year and come into every season with a bunch of no-names, and considering they generally wait until like mid-August to make their run... yes I am surprised

Last year wasn't exactly "good ball" in Oakland though. Then again, what do I know, I'm just a stupid fan.

Actually their defense has improved more than their bullpen. They were one of the worst defensive teams in the history of the game last year which cost them a ton of runs. So far this year, their defense has been one of the top in the league thanks to all the changes they made.Member of The OS Baseball Rocket Scientists AssociationComment

The Cardinals
If they make the playoffs this season, I fully expect Tony Larussa's head to get so big that it will explode."The academic support at Ohio State, there is no way you can fail. Even if you're giving minimal effort there is no way you can fail."

Don't worry, once it warms up the pitchers will turn to crap under the sweltering sun of Arlington. They're winning right now to save Ron Washington's job.Member of the Official OS Bills Backers Club

Re: The most suprising team in baseball so far this season is the __________?
Marlins for me.
I'm honestly not that surprised by the Rays. I'm a little surprised by their pitching (bullpen and starters). They have a lot of talent, but I didn't think the pitchers were going to be this good so soon. They could always hit themselves into a lead. However, holding onto that lead was a different story.Comment
