Not only is Sabathia a good pitcher, but the dude can also CRUSH the ball as a hitter.

Like others have said, even if he leaves, the Brew Crew will get compensatory picks.

Yeah, LaPorta looks like a stud. Cleveland could use a hitter like that now that Hafner is irrelevant.

Sheets and Sabathia is a nasty duo at the top of the rotation. I know it'd be expensive, but locking both up long term would be appealing.

I wouldn't count out Sheets leaving, yet.

If the Brewers attract good attendance down the stretch and go into the playoffs, that's just extra cash for the Brewers.

I can tell you, if the Brewers are willing to give Sabathia more than what Santana got *that's what he wants* then you can have him. Rumors are that CC is going to get about 22-25 Mil on the open market.

It's a contract year for Sheets, he's just as good as gone.

Yeah, the Brewers signed Braun for 8 years recently.

This isn't the old 1990 Bud Selig Brewers with payroll at $20million.

The Brewers still could sign Sheets.

I love this trade for the Brewers I have a feeling they might sneak into the playoffs.

At least they already got uniforms in CC's size

I don't know if "sneak" is the right word. Sneaking into the playoffs is what the winner of the NL West is going to do, getting in with a record around .500. Milwaukee's already 10 over .500 and tied for the wildcard lead without Sabathia, and they could certainly make a run at the division (3.5 back).

I don't see anything sneaky about that.

Yeah, I hope we make a run at one or the other (Sheets or CC). Good pitching is so important. I mean, we would still have a 1-2 of Gallardo and Parra next year, but Parra is still developing and Gallardo hasn't pitched a full big league season yet. Having an ace you can count on every five days is so crucial, and with the offense we can put out there for years to come, I would love to keep Sheets or CC (or both?) around to take advantage.

I agree. They could still sign him. But the odds are with it being a contract year and all, he's gone.

Could you imagine a starting rotation next season of Sheets, Sabathia, Gallardo, Parra, and Suppan!

Thats a hell of a starting 5 plus the offense we already have, I know this may not be possible but I can dream

Yeah, I've been following him since he was in AA, so it sucks to see him go, but at least he didn't go to a team that I hate. I do like to think of the future of a Sizemore/LaPorta/(Francisco/Gutierrez/Choo/Crowe/Snyder) OF, though

Well I would pretty much say Gutierrez is a bust, prob the same with Choo. I don't think Crowe will ever make it either. So hopefully LaPorta is the real deal and not another Andy Marte.
