Started my franchise with the Cubs. Simmed the first game against the Mets - Wood vs. Glavine. Played out the second game - Prior vs. Leiter. Then I go to the schedule screen at look at the next day's games. Who's starting against me for the Mets in game three of the series?? Glavine?!!
I ended up simming the game, then just simming ahead two weeks into the season, after which I checked out some stats. A lot of screwy things seem to be going on with the pitching rotations. The weird thing is, it only seems to happen with certain teams.
For instance, after simming into the second week of April, Glavine had made 4 appearances for the Mets. No other SP for the Mets had made more than 1 appearance!!! Checked out the Red Sox - seems ok, but Tim Wakefield has made 4 appearances to Pedro and Lowe's 3 appearences apiece - weird since Wakefield is farther down in the rotation than both of them.
Someone tell me, what am I seeing here?? Have other people experienced this?? AND somebody fix it!!!

Other franchise notes - there are alot of weird trades going on. First of all, the multitude of trades within the first two weeks of the season is itself a little odd. Then the trades are also a bit questionable too. For instance, the Mets shipped Leiter to Seattle for Bret Boone (either Boone or Robbie Alomar is now playing out of position at 3rd, I can't tell which). Then Milwaukee traded Ben Sheets to Seattle for John Olerud. So Seattle just traded two/fifths of their starting infield for 2 starting pitchers. Not to mention that Milwaukee traded their ace for an aging first baseman who, more importantly, they don't need. I don't get it. The problem I mentioned above with the weird rotations is a bigger problem, but seeing as you can't turn AI trading off in Franchise mode, this is pretty annoying too. Help please??? At least tell me if other people have been seeing this. It must be bothering some of you alot, huh??
