I shelled Colon in the opener with KC (March 31st). He was out after 2 innings. I went to play the 2nd game (April 2) and Colon is starting again.

They also had Frank Thomas playing first instead of Konerko (DH) and Carlos Lee in CF, Ordonez in LF and Rowand in RF. Not unheard of I guess just screwy.

    Still love it though.

If you are planning to play this game with your buddies than hands down this is the game for you. If you are looking to get a simulation experience then I would look elsewhere.

Personally, this is my fun game and WSB is my serious simulator. Still fun but nowhere near as fun as MVP.

      Just my opinion.

I am a Dave Kingman fan in fact. Got a signed bat from the man himself.

Anyhoo, I agree about MVP probably providing the funnest exhibition game of the year. I like to play a whole season, though, and the first poster made it sound like this was would be a chronic problem. I 'm sure there's a way around it.

What's just as much a bummer is the wacky trades going on. I don't want to face my league rival in a big spot in the season and not recognize the line-up. Especially early in the season. I wouldn't mind a handful of big names moving around close to the trade deadline but nothing else. This is what killed the ASB franchise mode for me last year.

Man, to this day I can hear the Oakland A's PA announcer Roy Steel announce Kingman... "Now batting, Designated hitterrrr DAVEEEE KINGMANNN."

          Sends chills down my spine.

I know the game "prioritizes" matchups with oppposing teams. For example a series against St. Louis is more important in a franchise for the Astros than a series against the Marlins would be. Could it be that the computer is "overusing "a team's top pitchers in series against rivals or other series that are assigned a high importance rating?

I wonder if it might be the kind of problem I ran into. I had Vlad n my team and he had 99 RBI's at the all-star break. I simmed ahead all the way to September. Went and looked at the stats. He had 109!!! 10 RBI's in 2 months.

So I got pissed messed around my lineup, and then simmed a game (watched the score build up inning by inning, but didn't intervene). Went out too look at league leaders after the game, Vlad now had 148. I don't know what happend, but 148 looked about right based on my teams score.

Hopfully this is somethig that can easily be sorted out.

I started a franchise as the Cubs and I only saw Glavine in game 1. Dunno if this helps you any, but I havent seen any goofy stats like that as of yet.
