    Home Run Derby

Anybody planning to watch this? Some fun up and coming guys in this one, but.. no Yankee to be found. I wonder if A-Rod and/or Giambi turned them down. Last time at that stadium and all.. I heard Pujols also wanted to be a part of this event, but I guess they went with Morneau instead.

    Participants
    Lance Berkman
    Ryan Braun
    Josh Hamilton
    Evan Longoria
    Justin Morneau
    Grady Sizemore
    Dan Uggla
    Chase Utley

Should be fun and more than likely a lefty will win in that stadium. I'll be pulling for Josh Hamilton.

Rooting for Evan Longoria, which means he won't win.

DEFINITELY going to be a lefty imo

id bet on Berkman. His experience will be an advantage over some of the others

btw, why isnt a Yankee in this?

A Yankee isnt in it because they chose not to be... If Giambi won the fan vote I think he would have done it.

I'm pulling for Morneau, but I think it's going to be Hamilton or Berkman.

Josh Hamilton FTW...I have a feeling he's going to hit at least one 500+ feet.

                Hamilton will win it IMO.

BTW what's with the HRD having guys with line drive power in it nowadays? Last year it was Rios and now Morneau. Oh well as Canadian he's my sentimental favourite.

BTW A-Rod was asked to be a part of the derby but he bowed out because it would "mess up his swing". What a wuss.

Yea I bet Bobby Abreu doesn't think so.

Giambi was asked as well and would have done it if he made the all star team but since he didn't he declined.

If anyone in the NY area wants to go, I can get you tickets for $150. Cheaper than the usual. Just letting you guys know.

I'm not going. I rather watch from home.

My understanding is that MLB actually declined. The rule is that you have to be a member of the All-Star team to participate in the Home Run Derby. Stupid rule but what else do you expect from MLB?

I'll be there, hoping someone can put on a show. My money would be on Morneau, Berkman, Utley, or Hamilton to do so.

Josh Hamilton will own everyone. I've heard rumors that in BP he hits massive shots.

Grady on the other hand, will maybe hit 2. He isn't much of a BP guy.
