    I disagree

I played with medium variable pitching early on, and I find the high variable pitching setting to be better.

The great/good pitchers will still have a lot of control over their pitches under HVP. However, under MVP mediocre and bad pitchers still have too much control over their lower-rated breaking pitches. These type of pitchers should go through situations when they have extreme difficulty pinpointing certain breaking pitches most of the time, causing them to constantly fall behind hitters in the count (this is what distinguishes the good/great pitchers from the bad ones). Then you have to resort to challenging hitters more with fastballs to avoid from walking him. I feel it never gets to that point whenever I use a mediocre/bad pitchers with MVP setting. Under HVP, pitching with Mike Mussina [NY] and pitching with Andy Van Hekken [DET] makes a huge difference that's not fully realized under MVP setting.

And I totally agree with Bud. Setting the CPU Pitching Ability slider to 100 along with HVP makes for the ultimate experience.
