From IGn about ASB franchise mode.

ASB isn't all that it's cracked up to be. This is a case of doing WAY too much. Okay, you can turn off things like the Rule 5 draft and arbitration, but you can't change the interface. And as cool as that video presentation looks, it's a pain in the *** to navigate. Go ahead, call up a minor leaguer, trade two players, and reorder your lineup. It's a pain in the ***.

Yeah, it's really too bad. ASB could have been so much more effective if it only had a better interface. It's far too clunky and not intuitive at all.

Hmm, and in a nutshell the three baseball game "Experts" all voted for WSB having the best frachise mode because of the fact that the coaches you draft make a difference. Hmm, guess they ignored the budget allotment portion of ASB. I guess they could not figure out how to navigate there.

Oh my!! Difficult to navigate? So the reveiwer has not grasped the concept of up/down point and click? Obviously they submitted their review written out on paper because they certainly don't have the skills to grasp the workings of a computer.

I think you can interpret the review to say, somebody told me ASB sux, I played it 3 years ago and didn't like it. So I'm going to make some stuff up while I continue to kiss some Sega ***.

I just don't understand. What do these guys have against ASB's franchise mode. One of them claimed that in WSB or MVP, no longer could you play your catcher 162 games. Well, it just so happens that there is also player fatigue in ASB!!!! How could they miss this? Oh yeah, I forgot, Sega and EA must've paid them off. IGN seems to overlook the fact that ASB has everything WSB has basically (in the Franchise mode) with the exceptions of coaches, shorter seasons (less than 162 games) and infinite seasons in the franchise mode. If that's what makes the best franchise mode out of all the games, I just don't understand.

By the way, ASB_Soldier or asb_man, if you get to read this, what do you think about IGN's assessments.

Also, thanks for the link, ASB_Soldier. You guys have made a great game. Perhaps, one of the most underrated baseball games ever. Oh well, I'm pleased with what you guys have done so I don't care about all these naive reviews. Thanks Acclaim!

IGN has their opinion and thats fine. Ive been playing the game for almost 6 months now and im still boggled by the franchise mode. I actually learned a lot from the game just about being a GM, and managing guys options and if they're worth the points they ask for. What i really enjoy doing is straight simming. I can sit for hours and take my team up into the 2020's all the while making trades and picking up guys in the amateur draft and building them up. I love it when you get into the late years and pretty much all traces of todays players are gone.

I guess next year we'll have to send a preview build to IGN with Hilary Goldstein as a player in ASB2005. Sega-style.
