Re: haha
I pose a question - When you create a player, how does the game determine where his H/C zones are?
Also - doesnt the pitching meter get faster according to the type of pitch your going to throw?? I thought it did, but that could just be my imagination.Vi Veri Universum Vivus Vici

Re: haha
Hey Blaise, I think I can help you on the pitch meter question. From what I've seen so far, it seems as though the meter get's faster if you choose a particular pitch that the pitcher is not effective with. It may be his 3rd or 4th effective pitch. Also, the green area seems to be smaller as well. That's just my take on itXBL Gamertag: hoos4974

Re: Addendum:
lol.
Jaybee - I have to agree with you that the idea of hitting zones SUCK. Just a terrible, terrible idea. Learn them by experiencing different hitters. At least have the option to hide them! I hope this hot/coldzone bull**** doesn't affect my enjoyment of the game too much.....
BUT why the hell would I say, pitch to B. Bonds hot zones? Very dumb to have these zones ..Comment

Re: Addendum:
Jay makes a very good point. Pitchers/Catchers go over their "gameplan" before games to try to see what advantages they can use, and what type of mistakes they want to avoid.
On another note, as far as the algorithms are concerned, you have to realize that baseball is one of the only sports where you can have sucess 3 out of 10 time and be considered great, soccer/hockey are the only other 2 I can think of right now.
That in mind, take Piazza as an example. Hes a career .320 hitter (roughly), and for discussion sake, lets say hes .345 vs lefties. In his cold zones vs lefties, he probably hits .300. In his hot zones, he may hit .365 and in his neutral zones, it could be .320. Just because its a "cold zone" doesnt mean that he cant still be an above avg hitter in them. Same situation, different hitter. Lets take Rey Ordonez, a career .250 hitter. Again, for discussion sake we'll say he .270 vs lefties. His cold zones may be .230 while his neutral may be .260, and his hot may be .300.
I would hope that the the Zones are relative to each hitter. And I do agree that players can, and will get hits in their cold zones if you keep pitching there. And like wise, you can get players out on hot zone hits, but this is baseball, where 3 out of 10 makes you great.Vi Veri Universum Vivus Vici
