Re: how would you rate the trade AI? 1-worst 10-realistic

after going 5-10 as the Yankees in my franchise on PS2 ( i cant seem to hitt very well, but im a stud at pitching...lol) would would have to give the AI a 9. I've seen very smart moves and subs by the CPU except for one time (which is why i don't give them a 10)...
In a game recently, N. Johnson doubled, Soriano was at the plate, 2 for 3 with a homer so far in the game, and the CPU decided to intentionally walk him, smart move IMO. but after the first 2 balls, i like a *******, try to get a decent lead off 2B with Johnson, and he gets picked off. now there are 2 out in the inning, and nobody on base, but the CPU decides to still intenionally walk Soriano. I would think that after the pick off, they would just go ahead and pitch to him, but they didnt.. instead now, i steal 2B with Sori, and i now have the speedy sori on 2B with Jeter at the plate, though there are 2 out, Jeter ropes a double into the gap, scoring Sori. Hence the 9 rating for CPU AI... other than that, i think they make very smart decisions. Jeter was only hitting .205 in this AB, Sori, .345... i would have done the same

well i have to say the ai is good, but some questions as to its process - example: i began a franchise w/ a fantasy draft. my first game was against the cubs. robbie alomar was up & hit a squibber down the line.. after the inning was over it said that alomar was hurt.. he was replaced by.. TINO MARTINEZ ????? i felt like reaching into the TV & chocking the cpu manager - he MUST be on drugs for doing that..

I give them a 3 or 4. I could simply trade Odalis Perez for anyone in the game. And yes, I mean anyone in the game as in Barry Bonds, A-Rod, Giambi, Manny, Pedro, Randy, etc. I don't put it through though, thats cheap.

but it's strange, when I really try to work a serious deal, it's real. That way I give them about an 8 or 9.

I'd give the trade AI an 8 too. I really had to earn my trades with the CPU and when I offered them crap players, they laughed too, but when I took the crap player out, they said I was close. I've been shrewd so far in my dealing, while also maintaining a low payroll...mixing veteran free agent signings and developing my young team. Funny thing is that in a month and a half into my season, no trades have been made yet except by me...

Sean Casey was traded to the Giants and Soriano was sent to the mets for Alomar. Theres been a fair amount of trading going on. Id give it a 7.

I'd give the trade AI an 8 or 9 as well. You definately can't pull a fast one on the CPU very often. I just wish I would get a little more proposals from the CPU, especially around the trading deadline. There has also been a fair amount of trading done between the CPU teams, and Adam Dunn has been shipped from Cincy to Boston, and then from Boston to the Angels a couple weeks later. Overall, I love the trading in this game, and I have to restrain myself from making any more trades.
