What I'd like to know is why is the MLBPA even helping Bonds, considering he isn't even a member?

There's a subtle difference between collusion and every GM/Owner deciding Bonds is not worth the risk. However I think one piece of evidence the PA can throw at MLB is the fact that JP Ricciardi here in Toronto wanted to sign Bonds at some point. He made it quite clear without actually saying the words "I want to sign Bonds" on his weekly show but JP made it clear from innuendo that ownership blocked him from at least giving Bonds an offer.

He's a member, but doesn't take part in the licensing portion so he can control his own likeness.

              what....

did they all agree he is a dickhead and not worth the absurd amount of money he wanted?

that isn't collusion, it is smart management.

hell, those bastards are colluding against me, too...not a one of them would sign me.

This is nearly the same way I think.

Seriously, the fact that no team wanted to sign him because of the media circus it would create is not collusion. It's called not wanting to screw up the team.

                  MLBPA is stupid.

Screw Bonds, he used steroids and just like OJ will get busted eventually. Good for the MLB.

Not that I'm disagreeing with you, but just to be fair, Bonds did offer to play for the minimum at one point.

Yea, there was absolutely something going on, but I can't stand Bonds, so I don't really care.

Don't you have the right not to a sign a guy who may be incarcerated mid-season? Bonds did this to himself, I don't want to see any tears.
