    Griffey is down yet again...

This is getting ridiculous. Now I know how Orlando Magic fans must feel.

Yeah, this is nothing like the other injuries he's been getting. This is just one of those freaky things that happens when you try to over-extend yourself. I applaud the guy for trying to save the inning. Who knew that something like this could happen. It's not exactly in the back of your mind when you try to make a play. I can guarantee he'll be thinking about it next time though.

      <hr /></blockquote><font class="post">

Do some research on the guy, he will NEVER think about getting hurt while playing the field. Anyone remember 1995. My favorite catch ever. I wish he would have atleast came down with this one like he did in 1995.

      <hr /></blockquote><font class="post">

... Until now anyway. Unless you've had this injury, there's no way to really explain how this can affect you mentally. I don't think about my shoulder problems until I get near my threshold, then I become extra careful because I don't want to pop it out again. I can almost feel it in my mind, happening all over again.

Yeah I don't see why people question his heart, he was trying to make a play and he put that first in front of his health. He's just kinda cursed really, he has really bad luck trying to stay healthy.

It's not about age, its about being injury-prone. At least in the AL he could play everyday, most days in the field, the rest as a DH. (I don't like the DH rule, personally) In the NL, the only way to get rest is to take days off. But, I guess if you're going to be hurt, at least its the first week rather than the homestretch.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't his other injuries come from running on the basepaths. They were leg injuries if I'm not mistaken, so unless he can have a designated runner, going to the Al won't make a bit of difference. It was just bad luck with the way he came down, stuff like that happens. What are you gonna do?

              <hr /></blockquote><font class="post">

If you want to use that viewpoint, then doesn't being the DH cut down on how much running you have to do during a game? He wouldn't be running basepaths and running around in the outfield as well every game.

Okay so Griffey's injured... so what? You can't prevent a dislocated shoulder... His rehab depends on how it heals, I just hope that it won't require surgery. As for Jeter and him, both gambling and going for plan B.
