I love the idea of timed hitting, but find that its a bit too easy in WSB. I tried it with CPU PA at 100 and fast pitching and got 21 hits of of Clemens and the Yanks in my first game. Unfortunately, I suck at moving the batting cursor so I'm really spending too much time tweaking my settings right now.

Re: Timed Hitting
There are three option for hitting that you can choose:
Timed Hitting - purely timing
Standard Hitting - cursor hitting
Power Pro - hitter adjust the power and the cursorComment

Re: Timed Hitting
I think I'm finally getting some good numbers using timed hitting and Xcells sliders!! Basically I just use the Power swing for every player. I used to just swing with power when Sosa was up! Now after six games I'm consistently getting between 5-9 hits. Basically with the power swing I get more pop ups and hard hit grounders. I've also seen more line drive hits which look more realistic than those bloopers you get hitting with contact. Another added bonus is I'm getting a lot more fouled off pitches leading to more realistic pitch counts. I was first afraid that I'd get too many HR's but so far nothing unrealistic, I'll let ya know if that changes after a few more games. It's a great deal more fun now...only down side is I'm not winning as much (dropped from first to fourth real fast but it's early in the season) and my Team batting stats are no longer #1 in the league! My love for this game is starting to come back.Comment

Re: Timed Hitting
Timed hitting is what I use as well.
IMO, just makes it that much more realistic.
In 12 games in my framchise with the A's, Chavez has 8 HR's for me..that is unrealistic, but I have been using the power swing mostly with him. I sure hope he calms down so I can acheive some realistic stats for him by the end of the year (.300/35-40/110+ RBI). Tejada has been the same way, he's been tearing it up in my franchise so far.
All in all, I'd definitely say use timed hitting. I never could get the hang of cursor hitting, and power pro just seems very challenging.
