I recently dropped down from All Star to Veteran because I was striking out 10 times a game and getting frustrated. I was still in first place (Mets) and second in the league in batting, but the K's were killin me. After one series in veteran, classic cursor still, I met the Rockies and scored 48 runs in three games, with a 21-2 win to cap off the series. I figured that Veteran was too easy and decided that if the offensive insanity continued I would go back to All Star. Well, just to humble me, I got shut out by Kirk Rueter 2-0 in the next game after winning 21-2 and I am in the 13th inning of a game against the Giants that is tied 3-3 now. That is what I love about this game, just when you think you have it mastered, it becomes challenging again.

Love the intro, player stances and ballparks. There is one area I feel this game could separate itself from the pack but have not done it yet. Infielding. Playing the infield isn't fun imo. At times the infielder dives over the ball and takes too long to get up. Middle infielder take an extra hop step before turning two which often renders the runner at first safe. When I see a Major League game the infielding is fast and urgent. The players look urgent when making a play. In All Star, at times look urgent and other times you want to pull them aside and say, "what team do you play for!" Thats from A League of Their Own if anyong is wondering. I would also like to see the user have the same animations as the CPU. There are some nice things ASB does in regard to infielding but its not enough to separate from the pack imo.

Fielding is urgent, if you use Future Throw!!!!! as in pushing the base before the fielder gets the ball.

I agree. Using the Future Throw is key to playing the infield well.

Fielding issues I'm hearing about are the non-responsiveness of the fielders, difficulty in turning double plays, lack of ground balls. Are the fly balls to center an issue with everyone? Lack of grounders results in the inability to move runners over, turn double plays, etc. Gosh, this game is so close to being awesome, if only these issues could be addressed.

                          <hr /></blockquote><font class="post">

Perhaps Acclaim needs to include a screen before the opening cinema starts that reads, "You have to press the button BEFORE it reaches the fielder!!" Once again, like almost every profesional review seen this year, the lack of knowledge of the Future Throw has claimed another victim.

If it's thought that there's a responsiveness problem with ASB when on defense, it's guaranteed that the user is playing incorrectly.

i'm pretty sure that the future throw is mentioned in that paper thing located on the left inside panel of the game's case. that's called "the instruction manual" it is very useful in learning the basics of how to play the game.
                              good luck!
