Re: Question On Mods For PC

Not sure how to do that. As I mentioned, if I turn off the crowd, the game runs fine. Probably the video card. You mention hi res uniforms, how can I get those? Are they the standard uniform upgrades for each team at HH.Net? Also, is changing the videocard something a novice can do or should I let a computer store handle this? How much did you spend on your card? Thanks again.

Re: Question On Mods For PC

Well, I bought a 128mb card. Normal I would guess for most people is 32 and 64, so this card will push the graphics. I got it off of pricewatch.com and after some guys recommended it to me. It's an ATI Radeon 7500. It was $69.00. To give you an example I saw an ATI Radeon 64mb for $99 here in town. I live in the desert so don't have a lot of places I can shop, but if you live in the city you might be able to find a bargain, but check out pricewatch.com and go to video cards.

A video card is easy to put in. When you look at your computer, take off the side (back, whatever) and you'll see that your MONITOR is plugged into the back of the video card chip. When you unplug your monitor it releases the chip. There might be a little pressure senstive handle that holds it in place, but you just lift it up and out. You won't break it. To replace it you just slide the new video card in, push down firmly (don't use a hammer) and then plug your monitor back in. They usually come with a CD that loads the driver, etc. It's simple, but maybe not the first time. I would be it you took your tower in, if you found a card, the store clerk would show you how (if it's a computer store).

At highheat.net go to the top left hand corner where it says highheat 2004 and click on it to get the drop window. You have to go through, I think it's gamespy, to download. Easier is baseballsimcentral.com and go to HighHeat 2004 and the downloads come straight from their site, no waiting in line.

Now there is a guy who does unis by the name of Cianfrocco and his unis aren't high res, but are really well done. It won't put as much strain on your card and will be a definite improvement over the default unis. He has a site with his unis on it, but I don't know the URL, but baseballsimcentral has all of them. Try one uniform and see what happens. Just unzip the new uniform into the team uniform folder and overwrite what's there and take a look.

My pleasure. I was a one time computer nerd (not saying you are) so I don't mind helping. If you want to also PM me if you need help that's fine too.
