Re: Nick Adenhart Killed In Car Accident
although we would love to be able to hate people who make mistakes it's not always right...
i don't know all of the details but you have to look at how a person in that situation might react...
the person responsible probably ran out of fear, it is something that people don't plan it just happens...
i know of someone who was in a similar situation, ran a red light, hit and killed someone, and ran... the person would get in far less trouble without running but they are not thinking about that at the time...
there are people who only get sentenced to like 5 years on crimes like this, it's not murder, it's manslaughter... some times prosecutors can make it worse though... when drinking they can get you with vehicular homicide...
That will get these *******s off the streets.
One of my worst two fears in life, aside from any of my future children dying before me, is someone close to me being killed by a drunk driver. I kid you not that I would do whatever it takes to exact vengeance on the person that does that, even if it kills me.

Re: Nick Adenhart Killed In Car Accident
This is sad. And know ;The Bird' and Harry Kalas to go. All in the same month. R.I.P. them all. As for the memorial, I though it was moving a couple of years ago when Josh Hancock died, and there was a memorial for him {im from Stl}, and I thought that was mving, but this memorial was even more moving.Comment

Re: Nick Adenhart Killed In Car Accident
I thought the fourth person in the car is now dead as well. Is he considered "responsible" for his or her death? 4th person didn't die. That was a wrong story. 4th person at last I head, was in critical but stable condition with injuries that were considered survivable.Comment

Re: Nick Adenhart Killed In Car Accident
So, if he or she were to hypothetically die perhaps still in the hospital, this will be put on him, correct? I wonder if that can extend his sentence or his bail plan.Samsung PN60F8500 PDP / Anthem MRX 720 / Klipsch RC-62 II / Klipsch RF-82 II (x2) / Insignia NS-B2111 (x2) / SVS PC13-Ultra / SVS SB-2000 / Sony MDR-7506 Professional / Audio-Technica ATH-R70x / Sony PS3 & PS4 / DirecTV HR44-500 / DarbeeVision DVP-5000 / Panamax M5400-PM / Elgato HD60Comment

Seems like this Gallo guy sure was a loser. He has a problem, clearly, but he hasn't helped himself at all. He got kicked out of a religious rehab program for being disrespectful.
And the parents say he's not a monster? Then what is?NHL - Philadelphia Flyers

Re: Nick Adenhart Killed In Car Accident
Well, I'm no lawyer, prosecutor, or juror of any kind... but in my mind, if you are operating a vehicle while intoxicated, you are in possession of a very deadly weapon. Making the decision to drive beforehand, in my view, is an act of premeditated murder. That's how it should be considered at all times.
That will get these *******s off the streets.

R.I.P. Nick Adenhart.
I personally could forgive "in time" someone who accidently killed my child. I will save a term like "monster" and exacting my own vengence on someone such as a sex offender who kidnaps my child. I am 10 TIMES MORE FEARFUL of that. That is intentional, premeditated, something they TRY to do.
We all die sometime in our lives. Sometimes by accident. Usually an accident is the result of making a bad decision. Using a cell phone while driving is considered as imparing as driving drunk. I hope you havn't made the concious decision to kill someone by using your cell phone while driving.
I personally will reserve the term of "monster" for someone who intentionally inflicts pain on a person before killing them. When rookie Randall Cobb was told by this U.S. Marine that he was a big fan of the wide receiver, Cobb said, “I think I’m a bigger fan of yours.”Comment

Re: Nick Adenhart Killed In Car Accident
I understand and appreciate your respectful comments in defense of your personal opinion, and while what you say holds valid water, I will still lean more toward my initial thoughts. Keep in mind that those thoughts were most definitely exaggerated and out of anger; I've witness this traumatic sort of event in my life and I'm just thankful that I was not a part of it. I have zero tolerance for people who are intolerably acting against the law, especially minors. I have never drank and don't intend to, but don't take that as me preaching on a higher pedestal than anybody else. I am personally proud of it, but at the same time it should definitely be the norm (this is for minors, mind you). Granted, I'm only 20 years old, so I shouldn't be drinking anyway.
What gets me the most is the guy had a chance to learn from his past mistakes, and it seems he didn't. I understand that we all die and I understand that accidents happen often without alcohol being involved, but I can assure you that 99% of alcohol-related accidents would not have occurred had it not been... well... alcohol-related.
Anyway, it was extreme for me to say that I would do whatever it takes, because though I feel that the person that did it should pay insurmountable reprimands, I don't know if I could willingly do it with no regard of my own personal well being. In other words, it would be just as wrong to 'stoop to their level' in ensuring that they are punished for their acts.Samsung PN60F8500 PDP / Anthem MRX 720 / Klipsch RC-62 II / Klipsch RF-82 II (x2) / Insignia NS-B2111 (x2) / SVS PC13-Ultra / SVS SB-2000 / Sony MDR-7506 Professional / Audio-Technica ATH-R70x / Sony PS3 & PS4 / DirecTV HR44-500 / DarbeeVision DVP-5000 / Panamax M5400-PM / Elgato HD60Comment

Re: Nick Adenhart Killed In Car Accident
The family allowed this. The guy was an alcoholic, they had to know he was going out and drinking since it wasn't allowed in their house. They continued to provide a place for him to live though and did nothing to stop him from drinking. They should have either told him you don't drink while living here and if you are drunk, don't bother coming home because you are not allowed in. They may of needed to even drug test him themselves and if he fails he is out. This guy has a severe problem and continued to do the same thing even after getting caught once.Comment

Re: Nick Adenhart Killed In Car Accident
Wow, not only is the guy a "monster", his whole family is at fault.
I am not defending what he did, but there is an awful lot of over the top reactions going on. His buddy he was drinking with shouldn't have let him behind the wheel either. But he alone bares the resonsibility for getting behind the wheel.
We all grow up in different cultures and environments that frame alcohol differently. In mine, it brought communities together most of the time. Sometimes it tore them apart. In others, it is demonized and is the root cause of evil.
I respect where other people come from regarding the consumption of alcohol. But the reality is again, he made a mistake that resulted in a tragic accident. And he alone will bare that guilt. Death threats on his family and blaming the people he lived with are going over the top. When rookie Randall Cobb was told by this U.S. Marine that he was a big fan of the wide receiver, Cobb said, “I think I’m a bigger fan of yours.”Comment
