Re: Nick Adenhart Killed In Car Accident
i'm not complaining about people responding but it's getting out of hand, i can go on and on but why? this thread is not about me, if you want to discuss my beliefs then send me a private message and i'll be glad to...
i posted a mature response, but people responding to what i said are being very immature... (if it's even safe to say that without getting banned for insulting)
Sorry, and this not meant to insult, but you're the one that needs to grow up & realize what a public forum is all about. Voice an opinion & be prepared to defend it, or have it accepted by, the entire membership.Originally posted by VP Richard M. One person I saw got rude. The rest just told you you're wrong. Each of us have an opportunity to respond. That's what happens on a public internet forum.

follow this link if you don't believe alcoholism is a disease
the man most likely had a family, could have kids, a mom, sisters, brothers, aunts, uncles... that whole family will suffer due to this tragedy, along with the families of the ones who died...
i feel sorry for people who's lives spiral out of control and it leads to either death or incarceration...
this is why i am trying to enter a field where i can help people avoid that, i am trying to become a chemical dependency counselor...
in school this year i have learned a lot about people. through my anthropology and psychology courses i am learning to not judge people based on my own standards... it is a struggle but at the same time it is very important...
i completely understand that some people look at the crime and the crime only... but i try to look at a situation from a different light... i try to look at what may have caused a crime to take place, is the person committing the crime a bad person? not always... very good people have been involved in such crimes... it's sad... i feel sorry for people who's lives are ruined over 1 dumb decision...
like i said in my original post, i dont know all of the details about this guy... i just have sympathy for all people effected not just the victim and the victim's family but also the offender and his family and loved ones... if he has kids especially man, his kids might have to grow up without a father now...
ok now i defended my view, let me be entitled to my own view and opinion please...Comment

What does the fact he has a family have to do w/him drinking and driving? What does dependency, psychology, anthropology have to do w/his decision to drink & drive?
However you feel about his addiction, or disease, he made a conscious choice to get in a car drunk. That deserves no sympathy. He made his own selfish decision. Why would any one feel sorry for his recklessness?Originally posted by VP Richard M. R.I.P. Nick.
I remember seeing him live in Spring Training last year. My brother who is a prospect freak was pointing him out to me. He was telling me to keep an eye on him. Very sad news.Comment

"I understand that if I continue to drink and drive it may result in death or serious bodily injury to another person."UPDATE: The first mugshot of Andrew Gallo on the left is from an '06 arrest for being drunk in public. We also got our hands on court documents from his DUI, which was also in '06, in which Gallo wrote this haunting sentence:
