    Lol.

He picked up another win, and has still not given up an earned run this season: http://www.minorleaguebaseball.com/m...pbp&pid=519381

Also there is an article on ESPN about him: Here

Yea, I read that article either yesterday or the day before. It's all a blur this thing called time.

I'm rooting for him. I think the Yankees are trying to downplay him because he's already getting so much attention. They really won't care until he hits AA ball.

Not many guys get a lot of attention in New York until they hit that level.
"It may well be that we spectators, who are not divinely gifted as athletes, are the only ones able to truly see, articulate and animate the experience of the gift we are denied. And that those who receive and act out the gift of athletic genius must, perforce, be blind and dumb about it -- and not because blindness and dumbness are the price of the gift, but because they are its essence." - David Foster Wallace

Well, he finally gave up an earned run, but 1 earned run in about 35 innings since the end of last season is not bad.

I don't get why the Yankees are moving this guy up? He's been dominant so far.

Yea...there's an article on the last page or so of the new ESPN mag (w/ Longoria on the cover). Aside from viewing this thread when it was made, I hadn't known anything about this guy.

The article was real cool, and this guys ability to throw lefty and righty is even cooler.

I like how they said umps in his minor league system had to enact the "Venditte" rule which makes him have to pick which arm he's throwing w/, and gives the opposing batter only one chance to switch sides of the plate - "or else a big cat and mouse game ensues".

                    Up to 31/1 K/BB.

Any idea why the Yankees aren't giving this kid a legit shot to move up?

I'm guessing lack of velocity is part of it. His fastball right handed is about 87-89 (maybe topping at 91), left handed it's less.

If he keeps putting up the kind of numbers he's putting up now he's got to move up to AA.

I wonder if the fact he's bi has anything to do w/his not being promoted. Maybe they think he's a novelty act? If he threw with just one hand and put up those numbers, they'd move him up.

He'll probably be moved up to Tampa soon. The Yankees usually start promoting players to higher levels right around this time.

I was thinking the same exact thing. I'd hate the see the Yanks pass on this guy, he's a hell of a pitcher.

The word you want is ambidextrous lol...

It might be something to do with that, the Yankees had originally wanted to draft him soley as a right hander.
