Re: Pat Venditte watch thread 2009
Stats update:
25 games, 28.0 IP, 2-1, 0.64 ERA, 20 saves, 1 walk, 38 K's.
He's pitched on 6 of the last 10 days, at least 1.0 IP each time. He's not allowed an earned run in the last 13 appearances. Also, he is 9 saves ahead of the nearest guy in the SAL.Comment

Re: Pat Venditte watch thread 2009
This guy is good.
I think the Yankees are testing him. Throwing him out there in so many appearances recently is probably to see how he handles it.
He's responding and I'm sure they'll promote him in the coming weeks."It may well be that we spectators, who are not divinely gifted as athletes, are the only ones able to truly see, articulate and animate the experience of the gift we are denied. And that those who receive and act out the gift of athletic genius must, perforce, be blind and dumb about it -- and not because blindness and dumbness are the price of the gift, but because they are its essence." - David Foster Wallace

I'm guessing a promotion, maybe to Trenton, but more likely to Tampa, after the SAL All-Star game.Comment

Re: Pat Venditte watch thread 2009
It was only a matter of time before he was promoted somewhere. He has to be as good as he was in Charleston to have any chance of going further, but as I said earlier in this thread, I think he has the work ethic to do it.Comment
