    A note to Cub fans...

How sweet it is... Eddie Perez with a huge three run homer as your bullpen falls apart last night losing to the Brew Crew, 9-6...Dusty even tried to buy some time by knocking out the lights ... the brooms are out this afternoon... and before you respond with "look at the standings", I know where your team is at and where mine is and also probably know where each will finish... the only thing that Brewer fans can look forward to is beating our friends to the south...

On a serious note: a lot has been made in the media on how Sosa is a bit timid at the plate since getting drilled in the helmet... don't get me wrong, I'd be timid too... what do you think?

Sosa is fearless. He'll bounce back.

I'm pulling for the sweep myself.

I'm just curious, have any of you cubbie fans yet been baffled by Dusty's strategic moves? I watched him manage for 10 years and I wouldn't hire the guy to manage a McDonald's.

I don't think dusty would win a world series if he could have any 25 players he wanted.

The thing with Baker is that his in-game managing has never been that great...he's always brought a good attitude and professionalism to the clubhouse, and his teams usually come out prepared to play good ball. You hire Dusty Baker for the stuff he does outside of the games, not during. He's kind of like a basketball coach who runs a good program, has a good system and has solid practices, but isn't a good in-game guy. You've practiced so well, that you beat everybody by 15-20 points, you don't need to strategize...
This is my personal opinion, but I think the Giants would have won the world series with a different manager...but I'm not sure a different manager would have gotten them there to begin with if that makes any sense.

I agree with you here. Baker is a guy who will have you in it come September, but then blow it. The ultimate goal is to win the series, and that's why I say I wouldn't hire him. That, and he hasn't a clue on how to run a pitching staff.
