Well, Juan Gone has been dealt, matter of fact I trimmed a lot of high-priced fat off the team, I looked and my back-up 1B J.T. Snow was getting paid 34 BP's and never even playing and left to PH now and again... he got dealt, I dealt Juan and Grudzie (60 and 38 BP's respectively) to a team for Marcus Giles and a B+ potential outfield with a 70 rating. So now i'm almost 100 BP's under my projected payroll...

Those are all excellent trades. I was worried about the future of your franchise when your payroll exceeded your budget so early in the season. The only time I would ever recommend having your payroll exceed your budget is when you are in the playoff hunt and you want to sign or trade for one or two big-name, high-budget players with short contracts late in the season so that you have a much better chance of winning in the playoffs. Good luck!

Yeah, sadly, i'm off to a horrendous start... well, 3-9... I lost 4 games by one run, and two of them were blown save opportunities... so I looked through the teams to see how had two decent closer-types and could feasibly deal one... one team had Mariano Rivera as closer and Armando Benitez as set-up, so I offered up to get Armando and they accepted... can't remember the specifics of the deal right now though... first game after the trade, I go into a save op, go to warm up Armando and it said he was exhausted... friggen previous team must've been using him a ton right before our trade...lol So I had to use Carl Pavano for the save.

I got a slew of people with 1 year left on contracts so this'll be a very active off-season. Actually very active trade deadline, i'm sure.

That's one smart team trading a tired player. It's too bad that you can't trade injured players. At least I don't think you can because I haven't tried it yet.

Some games you can't... some you can...

I was playing NFL2K3 and I don't think you can, but when I played NHL2K3 I deal Kovie who was out for like 2-3 months for prospects... lol
Didn't deal no one in my NBA2K3 franchise.

Can you tell I went Sega across the board this year? lol

I'm pretty sure you can trade injured players in WSB. I can't remember exactly who it was, but I had a team offer a 2 or 3 player trade and one of the players they were dealing was injured for another 65 days or something like that. It surprised me because it was a pretty good player (ratings wise) and I was excited for the trade until I saw that . Guess it was a smart move by a team in the playoff hunt.

I noticed that you can check the injuries news and try to trade for quality players when injured. They are gettable if you can wait 60 or so days for them to heal.

It feels like cheating though as it rarely happens in MLB.

Thanks for the information on being able to trade injured players. I might try trading a player when he gets injured for over 60 days.
