I think their record speaks for itself. They ARE better without him, I saw someone on another sports forum quote their record with him and without him and they were like 30 games better without him. Nuff said!

Re: Griffey coming back this week!!
He hasn't played a full season yet. The Reds aren't going anywhere without him." I look at him and it's getting to the point where it's just scaring me. He looks younger but he doesn't carry himself in a younger manner. He's impressive, and I'm glad we drafted him. "

I have to agree, if they didn't have all that money tied up in him they could get themselves some decent pitching.
Not only that, but the Reds are on a roll, esp. w/ all the 9th inning wins, will Griffey upset the good chemistry going on? It's possible.

what about all that money tied up in Larkin. Anyone ever think of that. He's 39 and not doing much at all any more. They should have never resigned him. He's tying up almost as much money since most of Griffey's is deferred.Comment

Difference is Griffey came into Cincy as "the savior" and hasn't done anything yet. While Larkin already helped them win a championship once. So Griffey is the fall-guy.Member of The OS Baseball Rocket Scientists AssociationComment

Re: Griffey coming back this week!!
I partly agree, but Larkin at 39 will outwork Griffey every day. Larkin puts forth more effort in 1 three game series than Griffey does in a week. Plus Larkin is about as loyal as they come, Griffey just chases the dollars. I really hoped him coming to Cinci. would change his attitude but it has only gotten worse. I truly would hate to manage a player like that.Comment
