ok, it was a bad call, no a horrible call, however....

    1. Rivera was getting squeezed a bit too, the contention that he was getting calls is silly

    2. Hillenbrand had no business trying to score in the top of the 9th, you had a totally rattled Rivera on the mound, stay safe and keep the pressure on. The momentum shifted right back to NY on that play.

    3. Manny got a terrible jump on the Matsui ball, it should have been an out, than he compunded his mistake by making an awful throw. If you wanna point to one play that killed the Sox it was that one.

Yes, that was a terrible call, Posada should have been out. Maybe the ump did not have the guts to pull the trigger in Yankee stadium, who knows.

Yes, I'm a yankee fan, but I thought the ball was genuinely inside. I wish I could see a overhead view because that ball was not over the plate (I was watching the YES Network and they didn't show an overhead).

I'm so disappointed that the Yanks almost lost that game. Rivera pisses me off. He needs to learn a new pitch, atleast one. You cant just rely mainly on the cutter and the 2-seam fastball (which he rarely throws anyway). He's so predictable. Bill Mueller shouldn't be getting hits off of Rivera. Its just pathetic.

The Red Sox put up a good fight though. I wouldn't have walked the bases loaded if I were them, but it worked last year for them. Hopefully Jason Giambi can start hitting because he got some good pitches to hit out of the park tonite but he missed them.

            1. It was a strike, you are blinded by your allegiance to the Yankees, but any Red Sox fan would be equally blinded if the situation were reversed, so I'll give you a pass on that.

            2. Mueller is hitting .390 for a reason, he is a very good hitter.

            3. I am pretty sure Rivera was throwing splitters in there too because that pitch was diving into the dirt, a cutter doesn't usually do that. I honestly don't know if he even throws a splitter though so I could be wrong.

            4. The Sox had to walk the bases loaded, it was that or pitch to Soriano, who has hit about 50 HR off the Sox in his short career. Once you walk Soriano you have to walk Giambi to set up the double play, can't take the chance that Soriano beats the throw to second.

It was a strike but we did have our chance and we blew it. Still in the lead though.

Rivera should learn a changeup. He'd be even more dominate if he did.
