Re: Roy Halladay on the block?
Yeah...yeah....I saw a few big mouthed cryin' Phlukie fans this year.
That ring looks old. It's not from 2009 is it?
If you ain't in first...you might as well be in last.
The Phlukies...the best of the losers.

Re: Roy Halladay on the block?
Putting aside your love of Johan Santana for a moment...
Can you at least admit that the $55 million dollar contract for Pedro Martinez didn't work out?. Or the $47 million for Billy Wagner?. The $15 million for Moises Alou?.
No one is saying that the Santana trade wasn't a steal for the Mets but most of Minaya's other moves are questionable at best. And what of the farm system or the lack there of?. He has done nothing to build that up.Comment

Those three contracts weren't that bad. C'mon.
Pedro was money his first year...then injuries took over.
Wags...well was Wags....then he gets injured...
Alou was hitting .341 with 13 homers in 87 games before he went down with injury...what are you going to do about that?
All three of those guys....proven excellent players.
Now...you want to talk WTF?...let's talk Luis Castillo's contract....
Trust me....I'm not loving a lot of the Mets moves in recent years...I'm just saying I don't get the vehement HATE for the guy. He's a mediocre GM that can occasionally make a great move.
...and the farm system...I don't think you can put that all on Minaya....some of that has to go on the scouts.

Re: Roy Halladay on the block?
But that's what happens when you give contracts to people in their mid 30s, or early 40s. Nobody expected Pedro to last through that contract. And Alou was 40 years old. I agree he's gotten some bad breaks, but a lot of this you could see coming as well.Originally posted by Jay BilasThe question isn't whether UConn belongs with the elites, but over the last 20 years, whether the rest of the college basketball elite belongs with UConnComment
