Re: Tony Pena Jr. - The Worst Ever?
Putting Pena Jr. on DFA isn't enough. He needs to be released immediately, skip independent ball, and go straight to high school as he returns 200 (thousand) dollars.
I'm assuming he stuck around because of his name. Pena is a popular guy in KC (Right?) and they probably thought they owed his son a chance."It may well be that we spectators, who are not divinely gifted as athletes, are the only ones able to truly see, articulate and animate the experience of the gift we are denied. And that those who receive and act out the gift of athletic genius must, perforce, be blind and dumb about it -- and not because blindness and dumbness are the price of the gift, but because they are its essence." - David Foster Wallace

He stuck around because for whatever reason Dayton Moore loved him and brought him with him from Atlanta.Comment

Re: Tony Pena Jr. - The Worst Ever?
It was really sad going to a lot of games this year and seeing him play so much. They would put him in to be a "defensive closer." It was embarrasing as a fan to watch him on the field. As bad as he was he couldn't do the simple things (move runners over, bunt, god forbid take a few pitches)Comment

yes sir, there was after TPJ was given the boot. Just think of the looting if Dayton Moore/Trey Hillman were canned.
I read somewhere we've won 19 of our last 65 games. WTF.

My wife and I had a brief convo about the state of the Royals:
Wife: So Moore and Hillman would be almost comparable to Steve Pederson and Bill Callahan when they were at Nebraska?
Me: *jaw drops to floor* Wow, I never thought of it like that.....but yes, that would be very true.In the deed came the glory; in the glory came the champions.Comment
