Yankees playing pathetic tonight. White Sox just had 1st and 3rd runner on first steals, runner on 3rd scores on the throw to 2nd. Then he scores from 2nd on an infield single. They are treating the Yankees like a little league team, they just keep running and bank on the Yankees not being able to execute simple throws and catches.

Man, The Stros always play us hard..but we came out on top 4-3.

the new guys won us this game. Holliday keeps on ticking, DeRosa with a homer. we need to get a 5th starter from somewhere

Cliff Lee with the no-no through 5 in his Philly debut.

          *EDIT*
Juan Uribe doubles in the 6th. No more no-no.

I hope all the Philly media who were crying because they didn't get Halladay STFU now.

I'm going to miss watching him pitch...and that insane knuckle breaking ball.

A-Rod tops it off by jogging out of the box on a line drive to left and then getting thrown out trying to turn it into a double down 5 runs in the 9th.

Just bad baseball the last 2 games. Way to many mistakes.

Nice debut tonight by Lee. 3 CP in last 4 outings. What era are we in??

Yes he is. Tomorrow should be a good game. Finish it Timmy. But you should have the Zito matchup in your favor.

I'm just going off of what print media was saying, where one guy said they got the wrong Cy Young winner.

Yeah, I was mad when the cubs passed up on him to go get Gregg to save some money, but Wood just hasn't been good this year.

Sorry if this is in the wrong thread but I was curious about the official scoring in the mets-dbacks game last night.

Pedro Feliciano led off the 8th by allowing a single to Parra in a tie game. He was then taken out and replaced by Sean Green so that runner is on Feliciano's record. Green eventually allowed a run to score on a wild pitch with 2 outs. I see that Feliciano was credited with the earned run BUT they gave Sean Green the loss. I have never that seen that before. Usually the guy that gives up the go ahead run regardless of whether he had already been taken out is given the loss.

I looked through the official MLB rulebook and I could not find anything except that the losing pitcher is the person that allows the go ahead run. I know official scorers have some leeway when determining the winning pitcher for relief pitchers in certain situations but I had never heard of it for the losing pitcher.

Does anyone have any ideas of why Green and not Feliciano was given the loss?

Parra didn't score the winning run...Upton did. Parra singled and Feliciano was removed from the game. Green came in and hit Upton and walked Reynolds to load the bases. The next hitter grounded into a 3-6-3 double play, erasing Parra at the plate. Green then uncorked a wild pitch allowing Upton to score, a man he had put on base, and thus he took the loss.
