    Joe Morgan at his best

Tonight he said that Pedroia and Youkilous are not guys who win or lose you games and as a result are unable to carry teams.

Not that this is a surprise, but Morgan is a joke. Even by his awful standards this caught my attention.

Pedroia, the reigning league MVP, went on one of the most ridiuclous tears since Nomar would get super hot for us back in the day. He even rocked it from the clean-up spot. And Youkilous? Why does ESPN do this?

Someone needs to take Joe Morgan to the woodshed and shoot him out of mercy. I mean that's just plain crazy even for him!

I bet Derek Jeter would have won Boston 10 championships this decade. Yes, this decade. In 8 seasons, he would have won them 10 championships. According to Joe Morgan.

      Goodness.

My favorite part about tonight was how he said it was obvious that the injury was affecting A-Rod's running because he slowed down going from 2nd to 3rd on Posada's double. Then they showed the replay and the only reason he slowed down was because Rob Thomson (3rd base coach) gave him the stop sign.

Oh, and on the line drive at Pettitte he kept saying Andy wasn't even trying to catch it, and he said it right as they show a replay showing Pettitte sticking his glove up at the ball and even squeezing it.

Add him and Luis Tiant and you got the ingredient for the worst broadcast ever.

This should be in the thread dedicated to people like Morgan (for posterity's sake).

Great, so not only is he a blathering old fool but now he's going blind.

ESPN needs to cut him loose for our sake!

I found the Luis Tiant segment entertaining. It was obvious ESPN wanted to pimp the documentary on him. Which I found entertaining.

It's apparent that you too have NO IDEA what you're talking about since you're not sitting from the vantage point of Mr. Morgan. Clearly being "in the booth" presents a whole new level of visibility during the game.

I remember the whole lie he told about being in a no hitter and with 1 out in the 9th he went up to the pitcher and told him how to pitch this guy and they got him out....yada yada yada.

A review of the box score showed he never played that day.

Brutal, he lives in his own world.
Not sure why he's a HOF'er. 2 Really good seasons and a ton of mediocrity. I think quite a few players fall into that category.
