What a ridiculous statement The only explanation for such nonsense is that you haven't even seen him play. If you saw that triple he ripped into the right-field corner tonight, realize that he has been hitting like that *all year*.

I am not saying he is Andruw Jones (yet) but he has been hitting the friggin' cover off the ball. He has been the Cubs best hitter by far, the ball jumps off his bat just like Soriano.

His fielding will never be the same as Andruw Jones'.

" I look at him and it's getting to the point where it's just scaring me. He looks younger but he doesn't carry himself in a younger manner. He's impressive, and I'm glad we drafted him. "

Well jeez you could argue that Willie Mays' fielding is not as good as A. Jones too.

                              No, it's justified.

                              Here's how:

Last year, after the All-Star break, he went on a _miserable_ slump. Gave the Cubs absolutely nothing.

Many Cub faithful questioned his ability after hearing about his awesome ability in the minors.

I for one thought he'd be a great pro, but up until this season he really hasn't been.

This season he has been remarkable, yes.

Was he in seasons past though? Absolutely not.

Andruw, on the other hand, has. He puts up 35-40 HR every season while almost getting 100 RBI's. He's a great 5 spot hitter that brings power and a glove that is unmatched to the Braves' roster.

I compare Patterson to Rafael Furcal this year. Both have had seasons they want to forget..but have stepped it up.

I'm not just talking about this season, but _every_ season Patterson has played in. He's not starting CF quality for the All-Star game, anybody would tell you that. Heck, I'd vote for Jim Edmonds before I voted for Corey Patterson.

A ridiculous statement? Hardly. You call yourself a Cub fan? Look at his previous seasons and tell me he's a great CF
