    Re: HH: Pitching

The part I find the most frustrating is that in one inning the outside changeup is thrown for a strike. The next inning...I throw the outside changeup and it's a ball now. Then I try an outside fastball and now I'm down 2-0 on Scrubby McMillan. I hate that stuff. Oh well.

I followed everyone's advice and I labored through all 9 innings and recored a nice outing:

      Morris 9IP 7SO 2BB 1R 1ER (107 P)

Sorry that this is a sort of old topic:

I have encountered many of the problems you guys do. There are some games where it seems like you can't throw a strike to save your life. What I found that helps out a little is to pick the spot where I want to throw, say, up and away, and upon releasing the ball, I would immediately use the aftertouch using the button directions in the opposite direction. Since you're not pinpointing your pitches anyways, it might drag a wild ball in for a strike.

The one thing that irritates me is that the moving fastball doesn't move the same way every time. If I could get some consistency, I wouldn't mind at all.

I also turned up foul balls all the way, which makes more realistic pitch counts (fatigue is gauged by inning, not pitch total) and you strike more guys out. Instead of having a weak grounder to third, the pitch is fouled off. Thus, you get more batters with two strikes. This helps out on offense as well, as you can actually work the batter a little more than you usually do.

But I've found I strike out more too. I was lucky to strike out more than once or twice on default, but I just endured a Vicente Padilla complete game, 14K performance. OUCH!

The number of foul balls on default is WAYYY off anyways. This adds some more realism.

            Try it out.

Can anybody tell me how to make the tuning sliders go to default during franchise?

This is one of the reasons I got HH. I love the unpredictability with the pitching. I was playing the Royals and Runelvys Hernandez couldn't throw anything but a fastball for a strike. Walked 4 in 3 innings. You learn to mix it up and really pitch.

Now that I can hit a little, I'm starting to win some games.
