A changeup on the inside corner seems to be my 3-2 money pitch....even with Royals pitchers. Gets them out in front and they foul off or ground out. Come back with a fastball in same spot if they foul it off.

Re: HH: drivin\' me nuts
Since I usually play with the Bucs, I don't have the luxury of pitching Pedro.
The game makes you pay for getting behind in the count, that's for sure. I was pitching Kip Wells last night against the Rockies at Coors. I started off throwing a lot of balls to guys like Jay Payton, Juan Uribe, and Jose Hernandez. They were swinging at some real garbage and I managed to get 7 strikeouts over 4 1/2 innings. I also walked 4. Larry Walker and Todd Helton are darn near impossible to get out, though! When I did make the right pitch to each of them, and got them to hit ground balls to short, Jack Wilson booted BOTH of them!! UGH!
Anybody here playing HH 2004 for the PC? I've heard and read some really disappointed fans that they've taken away alot of the older features (like mouse support) and have made it like the console interface. I'm still playing HH 2003. I like my drop down menus!Comment

Re: HH: drivin\' me nuts
I'm 15-10 with the Cubs on MVP.
The game does put you at a disadvantage if you get behind the count. That's why I almost always groove a fastball on the first pitch. More often times than not, they are taking the pitch. I also found the same to be true at 2-0.
The only thing I touched with the sliders is foul balls. I turned it up a few notches.
I don't like how it feels like you can press down and away for a pitch and miss high and in, but I'd rather have that "on the edge of your seat" feeling instead of the perfect, pinpoint control of WSB or ASB.
If you guys want a monster, and I mean monster, relief guy. Go to Toronto's team. I don't remember his name, but this guy throws a 103 mph fastball and 89 mph changeup! His slider is 97 mph! And he's got great control.Comment

Re: HH: drivin\' me nuts
I have both WSB and ASB for the xbox. I put the pitching variance to medium and turn off vibration. Makes it less predictable on WSB.
I assume you're playing a console version of HH? I had the xbox HH2004 and like it, too. But, it's very similar to HH2003 on my PC. I also tuned up the foul ball sliders plus I increased the pitch speeds across the board.
15-10 w/the Cubbies on MVP? Good job so far. MVP is a challenge!Comment

griffy,
Hear the same thing about the PC. Too bad, the mods on the game are sweet! Wish updates through AR or XBL would help the console game.
<hr /></blockquote><font class="post">
Too bad 3do filed for bankruptcy. Updates may become sporadic, if they're not already. I think the only XBL updates are for rosters.
The mod community for HH is absolutely amazing!! There are some really talented people out there that spend a lot of time making the game outstanding!Comment
