I hate these Japanese guys that come over and win ROY's. They don't deserve them. Guys who have been playing pro ball for 10 years should not be eligible for ROY. C.C. Sabathia was robbed by Ichiro in 2001. Any other year C.C. wins by a long shot. He had 17 wins and was in the running for the Cy Young. Ichiro was a pro for like 9 years.

What it should be is any player with time in ANY big leagues, including any country, should not be considered for rookie of the year. If a guy spends 5 years hitting 50 home runs a year in Japan in their big leagues it's not fair to come over and win rookie of the year here.

couldn't agree more with you on Podsednik. one problem he isn't the lead off hitter. today he was but that's because Keith Ginter was playing 2B instead of Eric Young who would usually be leadoff. ya i watch the Brewers a lot. i was at todays game and Podsednik showed great base running skills and awareness. i think Ginter hit a shot to deep CF, Hunter caught and Scotty was on 2B he was going to tag up but then saw Hunter firing the ball into Rivas.

NL- Scott Podsednik CF Milwaukee Brewers
AL- Eric Byrnes OF Oakland Athletics

Willis and Seo are a close 2nd in the NL and Rocco is a close 2nd in in AL. if Byrnes isn't a rookie then my vote is Rocco.

Bah, my fault. I know he's normally the number 2 hitter, but I always think of him as a leadoff hitter with his speed and avg.

Did you see him tag up and come home during today's game? Haha, no one else on the Brewers would have ever made it on that shallow of a fly.

Also, to the person who mentioned that Japanese players don't classify as rookies, I definetely have to disagree. The pitching and hitting in Japan is different that it is in the MLB. Most pitchers throw sidearmed and most of the strikes thrown are fastballs. No breaking balls or offspeed pitches. Just look how Matsui was affected by the MLB pitching last year during International play.
The American players who enter the league actually have an advantage over the Japanese athlethes because they're used to the pitching and hitting.
