Adam Dunn an all star??? You have to be kidding me! He's batting .207 with an OBP of .355. Baseball isn't all about HR's. His stats are terrible this year aside from the long ball. He's a Dave Kingman type player - for those that don't know Dave Kingman - Tons of K's and tons of HR's.

Jose Guillen has put up the best numbers for the Reds so far. I'm not sold on him because I watched him flame out in PGH, but he is having the best season. Doesn't mean he'll make the all-star team though because there are a ton of good outfielders in the NL...

.355 is such a good OBP. Yes, all Dunn does is HR, Strike Out, or Walk, but if you look at the numbers closely, he is having a pretty good year.

As for Guillen: No, he should not be an all star. Boone should be.

.355 OBP good? Sorry, but not really. That's average at best. It ranks him as 5th best on Cinci (not a real big feat) and 37th best in the NL ahead of Bagwell and behind Preston Wilson (two more players who swing for the fences and are K machines).

Boone will probably get the all star vote because the NL outfield is crowded, but his .268 BA, .332 OBP is not real impressive.

Sure, Boone is batting .268, but his #'s, 15-51-12 put him near the top of NL 3rd basemen.

Oh, and yes, .355 isn't a GREAT number, but when you consider that its better than Soriano's OBP, its good.

Diesel - True. I didn't compare Boone's numbers to other 3rd basemen. He should go if he's better or as good as other NL 3rd basemen. Guillen's got good numbers, but the NL outfield is crowded so I doubt he'll make it...

I agree it should be Guillen. He is the only player on that team who can hit with any consistency at all. Dunn is a joke, 10 for 62 with RISP!!! You gots to be f**king joking, he is terrible! Kearns has 1 or 2 HR's in the last 30 games after his hot start. Boone can hit 3HR's in a game and then not hit one for a quarter season! I love the Reds, but without Guillen, they are 15 games out instead of 5! And that is why he should represent the Reds at the All Star game, not these other inconsistent .250 swing for the fences, lead the league in Strikeouts, errors, and lowest team BA hacks the Reds have this year! Oh, and did anyone see Griffey Jr's stellar at bat today? What a has been he has been! Curse of the whiny *** under achiever!
