Re: Hall Of Fame: Yes Or No?
Bill Jame's man crush (along with Frank White for some reason)...he always loved Biggio, especially from like 1996-1999. Biggio was outstanding. Without looking at it, I don't know who I would take between Alomar/Biggio in the 1990's."People ask me what I do in winter when there's no baseball. I'll tell you what I do. I stare out the window and wait for spring." - Rogers HornsbyComment

Re: Hall Of Fame: Yes Or No?
Was kinda pissed he didn't make it this year. The voters overdid the outrage a bit much and he got penalized for it.
Biggio is easily a top 10 2Bman of all time (tough time cracking the top 5 with Hornsby/Sandberg/Alomar/Robinson/Collins), but is on par with Rod Carew, Frankie Frisch, and better than Joe Morgan (all in HoF). Over 3,000 hits (more than Carew), 291 HRs (more than Sandberg), 400+ SBs. 5th all-time in doubles, 15th in runs, 32nd in XBHs, played 3 critical positions well. Gritty, tough player who would do anything to win (2nd all time in HBP) and as mentioned could play basically anywhere on the diamond and hit anywhere in the order.
The only thing I can think of working against him is his Stros got close a lot but never won it all, and his postseason numbers are very underwhelming.
In my book, Biggio is 100% worthy of the Hall.Chicago Cubs | Chicago Bulls | Green Bay Packers | Michigan WolverinesComment

Re: Hall Of Fame: Yes Or No?
Good stuff guys, not really a huge expert on Biggio, I'll have to look at the stats. But he was a tremendous hitter for a 2nd basemen and good power, He had alot of longevity, and he was a good defender, and could play multiple positions. That's all I know.Comment

Here's one that I should probably search on, but any takers on Barry Bonds? I'd put him as a yes personally.Chicago Cubs | Chicago Bulls | Green Bay Packers | Michigan WolverinesComment

Re: Hall Of Fame: Yes Or No?
Yes, absolutely, minus steroids, he was still a hall of famer, he didn't even need steroids.
That's what's so sad. He was already a five tool player.Comment

I gotta think Griffey will get in but that's probably already been discussed. I really want to go see him inducted."Twelve at-bats is a pretty decent sample size." - Eric ByrnesComment

There are things I disagree with, and then there are things that I disagree with.
This is the latter. I find this opinion on Morgan to be completely indefensible in pretty much every conceivable way.Member of The OS Baseball Rocket Scientists AssociationComment
