I heard they fired Sean Salisbury for the same thing.

When you are dealing with addiction, you can not gather yourself together enough to make sound judgements as to how your choices will hurt your family. The addiction trumps everything. So you have Phillips checking himself in to a treatment facility and getting fired; meanwhile, Letterman can be silly about what he did and keep cruising.
So, if I step out on my girlfriend and bang a couple of Sea Donkey's. Sexual addiction should be a viable excuse, for doing so? Sweet.

Any addiction is serious. It is odd that he is doing the treatment thing now, but sometimes the worst of things makes you do what needs to be done. But addiction will mess you up. People know what the right thing to do is, they are just to oppressed by their addiction to do it. It's a ver serious and sad dilemma.

Or, just to play devil's advocate, he's calling it an addiction to try and save face and doing treatment now just to keep himself from looking like a complete lowlife.

Addiction IS a serious thing, but it's also used as an excuse all too often. In other words "Oh crap, I got caught for being an a-hole... it wasn't my fault everyone I have an addiction... now feel sorry for me."

I heard Sean sent a pic of "little Sean" to someone in ESPN's employ. I think he got suspended for that. I think the end came when his contract ran out & it wasn't renewed.

And I heard that the chick in question in the Harold Reynolds incident was Bonnie Bernstein; she overreacted, Harold got axed, then he turned around, sued them, and won. I think she was on WFAN awhile ago and talked about all of this.

Right. That could very well be the case. Many people go threw life doing some questionable things and don't feel sorry about it until they are caught. I guess when you get exposed you really can't turn to much that will give you the benefit of the doubt.

Sort of. The suit never came to trial. ESPN settled for about half of what Reynolds wanted, from what I've heard.

I know nothing more about the particulars of Reynolds' dismissal than anybody else here. I met and worked with Harold several times a few years back. Super nice guy in person. I certainly can't imagine him as a "creepy sexual harrasser" type. But when I found out he'd gotten in trouble for being repeatedly "overly friendly" toward women...I was surprised but not shocked, if you know what I mean.

The Bonnie Bernstein thing was the 3rd time in less then 2 years that Harold was accused of sexual harrassment. I read a very lengthy article on the Harold Reynolds situation when this all went down. Like I said he was accused 3 different times by 3 different women of sexual har. while he worked for ESPN.

I wouldn't mind seeing that article, if you happen to remember what website it was.

Anyways, the jumpoff took her act to Good Morning America, trying to drum up sympathy.
