Damn... you'd think a former GM would be better at bringing some good looking young prospects.

    Yikes.

Nah, screw that... The broad lost any potential support when she stepped to his wife and kid on some scandalous stuff... LOL at the media "picking" on her. Have they called her unkind names? Yes. If she hadn't played the role of psycho jumpoff, she'd have gotten much more sympathy. True, she'd have probably gotten the insults, but she'd have also had a much better chance of people feeling sorry for her.

Well said THM. Why should she be spared any ridicule? She knew Phillips was married. Then she verbally harassed the wife. This woman didn't do anything to her.

What goes around comes around. Karma. Reap what you sow. Do unto others.

Whatever mantra you subscribe to, justice is being served. Hope she left room for just desserts.

They had to fire this guy. This dude is a degenerate. He put his job and his family life in jeopardy for the equivalent of Natalie from "The Facts of Life". Kick rocks Steve. You obviously aren't too smart. And the first one he cheated with looked like a man with a wig on. Come on Steve. You can do better.

So should CBS fire David Letterman too?

No because according to his contract, his company, World Wide Pants, is not a part of CBS so technically he didn't break any rules that would lead him to be fired. He was just getting him some on the side. Morally wrong, yes, but Philips should have known not to fraternize with the ESPN help which was the company that he directly worked for. Also, have some better judgment.

If your dumb enough to pick the loony chubby chick as your side piece, make sure she aint mouthy and psycho and dumb enough to think that because you gave her a mercy bang, she is your girl and think your gonna leave your wife. Combined with some of his moves as the Mets GM and this, and its clear that this dude aint too intelligent. Get your loins in check Steve.

They were gonna fire him, but not based on him being a degenerate. I think bad publicity was the overriding factor. If Steve didn't have a prior history of this kind of thing, and if ESPN doesn't have a well-earned reputation of being a moral cesspool of a workplace, then this kind of thing gets swept under the rug, and he gets a slap on the wrist. You have those two scenarios, PLUS the psycho jumpoff stalking old dude's family at the crib and on facebook, they had to fire him.

I read today that the jumpoff was let go, but she got a nice fat check on the way out.

Flipping through channels and I stumble upon the insufferable Mario Lopez talking about this on Extra. Curious why Extra would be talking about Steve freaking Phillips I stopped.

If you trust Extra as a news source (and I trust The Onion more than I trust them) apparently Steve is going to sex rehab.

So now apparently we all have to feel bad for him because he has a problem. Shrewd move Phillips. Shrewd move.

They booted Harold Reynolds for accused sexual misconduct with a ESPN employee. Its been said that sexual related infractions are rampant in Bristol. There is supposedly at least 50-60 claims in the last 2 years but most never come to light. This dummy Phillips just couldn't help himself.

It's kind of sad to see so many not worried about Phillips' condition as one with sexual problems. Rather, people are calling it more wrong because she's unattractive.

When you are dealing with addiction, you can not gather yourself together enough to make sound judgements as to how your choices will hurt your family. The addiction trumps everything. So you have Phillips checking himself in to a treatment facility and getting fired; meanwhile, Letterman can be silly about what he did and keep cruising.
Being kind, one to another, never disappoints.

That's what you really meant, right?

I mean, this dude couldn't see, but he's still on the road driving. Bad enough his lack of vision almost led him to trade David Wright for Jose Cruz Jr.

All jokes aside, this whole "sexual addiction" thing seems too convenient. If I was him and I realized that there's a distinct possibility that I wouldn't be able to work anymore, yeah, I'd pass it off as an addiction. To me, the only problem he had was some seriously flawed pimping... One, he got too cozy with his jumpoff, empowering her with his stories about his family. Two, he didn't set guidelines for his jumpoff... You make sure from the start that they know what their status is. If the whole "addiction" thing works out, he'll probably wind up on Fox or MLB Network. I pray he doesn't wind up on MLBN, though, as I'm already adjusting very well to life without him in my baseball viewing.
