Today was probably the best game I've been to...at least in terms of what I got.
We got there really early for BP (I have been getting there really early recently to hopefully get a ball). Nothing was hit right to me, but Dontrelle Willis was shagging balls in left/center field and one rolled to him. He stood there and talked to one of his teamates for about 10 mins. and held onto it while everyone yelled for him to throw it. Finally, he tossed it up in the stands and I jumped and caught it! It was very cool...I was pretty pumped since I'm 22 and have been to about 10 Cubs games already this year, and probably more than 100 in my life and have never gotten a ball.
After the excitement of that wore down, I remembered I had my scratch off card for the Dusty Baker autographed ball. This is a new promotion the Cubs have started this year. Something like the first 10,000 fans get a scratch off card to win an autographed ball from a player (new or old). Tonight it was Dusty Baker and I won it! I've been to several games where they were giving these away (Mark Prior night and Sosa night) and didn't win those, so this was cool.
Finally, the Cubs WON...so it was a great night!
