I've actually caught... yes... CAUGHT five... as in they hit the ball for a homerun (in BP), and I caught them on a fly. For some reason they go to me a lot. ONE was bare-handed.

Here's my list in order (4 were at Pac Bell, one at Dodger Stadium):


Sean Casey (Reds, 2000)
Phil Nevin (bare-handed, Padres, 2001)
Robert Machado (Dodger Stadium, Cubs, 2001)
Shawn Green (Dodgers, 2002)

It's been almost 20 years for me - since I was a kid/teenager - but let's see....

Former Pirate reliever Kent Tekulve threw me a ball walking off the field, which was cool - and, Miguel Dilone from the Expos hit a fouldball into the stands (at Three Rivers Stadium) and it hit me right above the eye - leaving a baseball seam bruised onto my face for about a month (I got the ball though). And - former Padre Tim Flannery gave me one of his slightly cracked bats once after bp. I still have it - in fact, I can see it right now - sometimes I swing it when I stretch in the mornings.

One time, me and my teammates were down in New Jersey for the Junior League Regional Tournament for Baseball. Anyway, we won the first two games so we got a day off from playing, and got to go to a Yankee game at Yankee Stadium vs. the Angels. It was my very FIRST game I went to, and it was unbelievable, even though I was a Sox fan. Our seats were in the upper deck, but we all went down into the left field seats right in the front for BP. Anyway, Derek Jeter came up, and hit a few pretty deep, but nothing near a home run yet. So I was talking to a friend for a second, and all of the sudden one of my friends yelled "BALL" at everyone. Jeter LINED one at us out in the stands and it fell straight into my glove. I went nuts at first, since it was my first game and all and I ALREADY had a ball, and it was even a home run, although in BP. It was awesome, and the whole day ended up kicking ***, especially when the Yankees wound up losing the game
