Re: Caught a ball during BP!!!

Ive gotten two BP balls and like you they were at Wrigley. Rod Beck threw one up to me during BP when I had bleacher seats. The other one I got when I was standing along the left field wall by the foul pole. The ball hit off the chain link fence bounced down to where the stairs lead up to the bleachers and took a funny bounce right up to me. I had to lean over the wall the usher kept telling to stay off of but I got it regardless.

Dude, I am pretty sure he was throwing it to the 7 year old that you jumped in front of. Nice job, but let the kids have their fun, and you should stick to the beer tent and gauking at the white trash hotties in their raunchy summer gear.

      <hr /></blockquote><font class="post">

There were NO kids around me...I am a big advocate of letting the kids have them. In fact, during the BP yesterday, one old guy (about 45) was running all over the place and caught 4 balls...and he kept ALL of them. Once I caught mine, I said that if I catch any more, I would give them to a kid.

The last game I was at some 25 year old kid caught 5 and he put all of them in a bag and left them there. After the game, someone (with a kid) asked if he could have one. The kid replied "for $20 you can." I shook my head in disbelief. All I ever have wanted was just one for my collection...beyond that, I would give them to the kids.

Also, I don't drink (except for on a very rare occasion) and like said, there were NO kids around me. If you knew anything, you'd know Wrigley field is different than most ballparks. There is a separate entrance to get into the bleachers and you cannot get to them from the other areas of the park. As a result, only people who have tickets there can get there. At Wrigley, most of the big drinkers sit in the bleachers, so it's usually 90% or more adults.

Finally, I've been going to baseball games since I was about 3 years old. I just spent $200 a few weeks ago for two tickets for the Cubs/Sox...I have been to at LEAST 100 baseball games. I think I deserve to have a mememto from the game I love and go to so much.

This is what I hate about this site...I found OS about 6 months ago and really like it for the most part...but every so often, there are ignorant idiots like you who ASSume things when they don't know what they're talking about.

To the guy who asked where I was sitting, I was sitting in the bleachers.

Relax buddy, it was just a joke. Didn't mean to touch a nerve.

Did you also use the "Momento" excuse when you grabbed that Dodgers hat off the releivers head a few years ago at Wrigley? Ha ha, again just a joke, no need for a heart attack.

I got a home run ball years ago when I was in 8th grade. Like 84 or 85 at Busch Stadium. Cards vs Phils and Lonnie Smith cranked one out to us. Bounced through like 10 pairs of hands and landed litterally in my lap. Man was I one happy kid....still got the ball stashed away somewhere.

While I was telling a friend at the ballgame on how I just missed Fred McGriff's foul ball as it skipped my hand, a foul ball from Jeff Reed (Rockies) pitched from Manny Aybar (Cardinals) came over one section to the right of me and ricochet right toward my seat. Right then and there, I picked it up and at the end of my story said "Infact, it looked just like this one". The foul ball had a all star logo on it since the all star game was at Coors Field in 1998. Will never forget that moment!

Hey, that is sweet. I've caught two before. Well, technically not caught but we were behind the dugout in the Skydome. After innings, sometimes the player that ends the inning with the ball throws it up to people. I've got two before, I don't even know where they are anymore.
