No. As the saying goes "act like you've done it before"...

Then again, next time I setup a network for a project and finish configuring VLAN's on one of our switches, I might jump up pound my chest and proclaim I'm the greatest...

I ABSOLUTELY HATE Sosa's "show". The skip, the little run thing around the bases and then of course the kiss to chest wtf that is. It's ********. Sure, i dont mind the pose or the walk or even Bonds' pointing his fingers in the air but jesus, at least its under 5 seconds. Sosa's act goes on for 30. Congrats Sammy, you hit one in the basket! Plus, half the time he does it when it's not even a homer. At least be able to recognize when you hit one.

Not me. I, personally, hate everyone that posses for their homeruns. It doesn't matter if it's a definite out or just barely clears the fence. All players that pose irritate me. Some that come to mind are Bret Boone, Barry Bonds, Sammy Sosa, Alfonso Soriano, Jason Giambi(occasionally),David Ortiz, and Ken Griffey are few that come to mind. Though some are unique and look good doing it, it's a risk. I like Ken Griffey Jr's pose so much. Sadly, it cost him a season yesterday. I'm for the idea that you pluck the next man for the previous guy, who took his time getting out of the box and rounding the bases. Don't care if you're a vet or a rookie make sure to always RUN! You don't want to anger the pitcher more than you all ready have by hitting that homer.

Here's my rule if I'm a pitcher. I don't mind a little showmanship, but don't show me up.

Do what you want, but the next at-bat, or the next game, series, year, whatever, you're getting one in the back.

I don't really like HR celebrations etc etc. especially Sosa's it's very annoying however I don't mind celebrating if it's a HR that was done at a crucial point in the game. Here's 2 examples. Carlton Fisk's "electric slide" wave the ball fair HR in the '75 WS and Kirk Gibson's HR in the '88 series.

I don't mind what Bonds does tho with the signaling to God and stuff at home plate after a HR. Tho as a pitcher i'd pitch him inside the first time he's up again

Apparently Joe Torre aint a fan of the excessive homerun admiration society that permeates baseball these days.

from ESPN: Young star caught admiring own homer

The young star hit a tying two-run homer in the sixth inning of Thursday night's game against the Cleveland Indians and watched from home plate before starting his trot.

Yankees manager Joe Torre spoke to Soriano about that in the dugout.

"You want him to set a good example for his teammates," Torre said before Friday night's game. "This stuff will come back to haunt you."
