A little pose doesn't bother me but if it's a 15-3 game and you stand there watching it for 10 seconds that's pretty annoing. But if you just hit the a walk off homer in game seven of the world series then you something to pose at.
Are you a fan of Homerun posing?

Re: Are you a fan of Homerun posing?
When AJ Pierzynski hit that HR to put Minnesota up in Game 5 of last year's ALDS against my A's, it was alright. Part of the game.
But...
When he stared into our dugout after the HR, that was completely uncalled for.
I think HR poses are ok, but don't go too far with it.Comment

Re: Are you a fan of Homerun posing?
I don't really mind it. I think if you hit a home run, you should be allowed to celebrate a little bit without getting a fastball in your back next at bat. Just don't go too far and rub it in the other team's face.Comment

Re: Are you a fan of Homerun posing?
If the emotion is there in the moment (close game, postseason, etc.), I'm perfectly fine with it.
If you're just showboating, and trying to get on SportsCenter (and players know the difference) - then you or your next hitter deserves to get plunked.
"Act like you've done it before" is right.
No one would've tried that crap against Bob Gibson or Don Drysdale, because the next pitch would've been in their ear...
It's too bad the umpires have taken away the outside of the plate from the pitchers. Brushbacks and beanings are part of the balance of baseball. As a hitter, if you want to crowd the plate - fine - but there's a risk involved. With the armor and tight strike zone, the risk is greatly diminished, and you see the offense explode like we have for the last decade.

Re: Are you a fan of Homerun posing?
It doesn't matter to me. I have a lot of respect for the people who dont o it though. Players only do that so media will notice them. You never hear about any homeruns from the people who actually just run.Comment
