Re: Do you cheer for your hometown team?

You gotta pull for your hometown team. It's easier also because of the radio stations, local games & news, and you can go to the game whenever you want. I pull for every hometown team, even if they're so called rivals. I like to see them suceed.
" I look at him and it's getting to the point where it's just scaring me. He looks younger but he doesn't carry himself in a younger manner. He's impressive, and I'm glad we drafted him. "
    - Lavar Arrington on his new Redskins teammate Sean Taylor.

I don't have a hometown team, but I cheer for one of the local teams, the Yankees. If I moved, I would still be a Yankee fan though, and not care about whatever other team was in that town.

Like you I'm starting to pull for the Rangers. The Red Sox are my favorite team but I consider my hometown Kansas City (well close anyway) and I am backing the Royals almost 100% this year (not Vs. the Sox)

The only 'team' I purely root for is the Portland Beavers, the Pads AAA club because I can go to their games. Being a fan through sports highlights on TV makes me feel disassociated, but when I can watch a team with my own two eyes it feels more real. I don't root for the Pads themselves, though.

You guys all remember the name Khalil Greene. He's a special player.

I first rooted for teh Rockies because of all their sluggers (Castilla, Galragga, Walker...)But when I saw Barry I knew that was my team.
