Jose Bautista is just tearing the cover off the ball early on this spring as well. I know it's too soon to make heads or tails of it but if getting his first opportunity to be an everyday player and batting leadoff is going to produce this kind of result then the Jays may be pleasantly surprised with a Scutaro-like season at the leadoff spot.
I watched the game on MLBN...the Jays hitters hit every mistake it seemed. I was impressed with Marcum as well. He throws hard very easily...and he was locating his change up.

The Jays look to have a solid 1-2-3 in their lineup with Bautista, Hill, and Lind...it's the rest of the lineup that has to be a concern.

It's hard though...especially when I got my neighbor playing their franchise across the street...maybe I will occupy myself with Glamore Magazine.

I was at the game and that seemed to be the consensus amongst everyone there who was not for the south-siders. watching him throw what amounted to two innings of BP really helped me understand why Seattle was willing to take 'crazy Milton' so quickly.

I said it in the Hot Stove thread, but it boggles my mind that the Cubs actually found a way to trade Milton Bradley away and make their team worse.

And wouldn't it be typical if he goes to Seattle and absolutely RAKES this year.

Stephen Strasburg pitched the first two innings against the Tigers today and looked very good. I know its his 100mph fastballs that gets the most pub, but the breaking pitches he has are also nasty. His stuff looked unhittable at times out there.

And I'm also impressed with Austin Jackson. I'm eager to see more of him.

I'm sad I missed that game. I planned on watching it, but I had to go out and look for a job(although i know that is more important than something I can watch highlights of later).

Halladay on the mound against the Braves lineup tonight, should be similar to our opening day lineup. It's on MLB Network @ 7pm ET.

Lets see...Roberts is hurt, Reimold still recovering from an achilles injury, Wieters has one hit, Pie tweaked his quad, and Millwood got rocked. Great start.

                            Welcome to my world.

I just got back from a spring training trip to Phoenix and got there just in time for the games to be rained out in a torrential downpour. I did catch a couple of Mariners games, though, while I was there. They played mostly utility players and prospects in the games I saw but I've seen the regulars play live many, many times so I didn't mind.

Dustin Ackley had trouble connecting with the ball in the two games until his final two ABs when he hit a couple of ropes, one for a triple. And the Jose Lopez experiment at 3B isn't going well if the game against the Brewers I saw is any indication. He looked awful.

Oh, and Milton Bradley hit the ball hard in the game I saw him play. I'll take him and all his baggage over the worthless Silva any day.

Bergesen looked shaky in his debut, but it's the first time he's pitched since July 30 so I'll give him a pass.

I didn't want to start a new thread on it, but Torii Hunter is an idiot.
