    Yeah, I see it's true.

This is an absolute sickening trade. I'm totally disgusted. What happened to all these prospects???

Let's just sell Giles to the A's and be done with it. What a disgrace!

                  Re: cubs get Lofton/ Ramirez

                  Cubs get:

                  Kenny Lofton
                  Aramis Ramirez
                  Cash

                  Pirates get:

                  Jose Hernandez
                  Matt Bruback (Right-handed Starting Pitcher)
                  Player to be named later

Jim Hendry (Cubs GM) said the player to be named will be a good player. I don't think it will be a top prospect. Great trade for the Cubs.

Yep, it looks like this whole thing is a payroll move. It's too bad because Aramis is still only 24 and is only going to get better. Oh well, looks like this is going to be fast and furious and in the end, the Pirates are going to have one of the worst lineups in baseball.

this is one thing i hate about baseball -since there is no salary cap or such, the smaller teams have to give up players all the time.. after Bonds & Bonilla left Pittsburgh, they have not been the same.. if they could have only kept the talent they had for some time, who knows.. but just another deal based upon economics.. as a Mets fan, i think that the Pirates had one of the better "underappreciated" teams.. that's was it is sooo good to see the Royals in first.
